I know it's early in week but would be interested in hearing any info out there. Thanks,

Washington running back Clinton Portis was sidelined by an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of the Redskins' loss to Buffalo on Sunday. He ran for 50 yards and a score prior to getting hurt.

Commentary: The severity of the injury is unknown, but the Redskins have the handicap of a short week: They play Chicago on Thursday. Ladell Betts would start in place of Portis.

Fantasy Football Impact: The Bears just gave up 183 yards and two scores on the ground to the Giants, so Betts would be an excellent start if Portis can't go.

That's what I thought. I don't remember seeing him leave the game for any extended amount of time.

IIRC, he limped off the field at some point, but he came back in later in the game.

saw mention of it last night on some show, not sure if it was Fox recap or something, then googled this am, this is only story that came up but was first one.

Clinton Portis left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with an apparent left knee or ankle injury. He rushed 25 times for 50 yards and a touchdown, and caught three passes for ten yards, before exiting.

The Redskins' run blocking was suspect against a smallish Buffalo front seven, which is disappointing, although they are expected to get RG Randy Thomas (triceps) back in the mix soon. Portis jogged off under his own power, but did have a noticeable limp when he got hurt. Check his practice status this week before using him Thursday night against Chicago.

This was on Rotoworld

Hopefully it is very minor as they have an extremely short turnaround for Thursday, and considering the team is in transit today for the funeral, a normal rehab/rest regimine will not be possible.

Not sure what the issue is here. Portis limped off at one point, but was in the game for the second to last play. He caught a short screen ( on a play that should have been nothing but a hail Mary ) with less than 5 seconds left.

:goodposting: Portis got the ball on 7 of their last 9 plays (not counting a punt).

Doesn't matter if it was 7 of 9, 15 of 18 or 1 of 2.It just takes one play and if that play was right at the end of the game, then I could see why there's speculation as to what the rumors are. It's possible that he was hurt, went back in and then after the game once you're not warmed up things could have swollen or tightened up.We'll have to wait here later today or tomorrow in finding out what the deal is.
