Anybody else going with Garcia this weekend? (1 Viewer)

I was a McNabb owner and am rolling the dice and starting Garcia over Bulger this weekend. I know, Bulger lit it up at home verse the Bears. But, Oaktown's pass D is legit.....weather is calling for rain.....and I think the Rams will ride SJax this weekend. Garcia has been solid, the Eagles put it in the air 30+ times a week....the Giants are tough against the run....and rather weak against the pass....and.....surprisingly.....the weather is calling for 60 degrees in NY this weekend.

I sure am. Starting him over Vick and Cutler, so.....

I've got Garcia, Kitna and Garrard in a start 2 QB league, so I'm pretty sure he'll be in my lineup.

The Giants allow the 2nd most FPs to QBs this year. That being said I have a feeling this will be a lower scoring game than we think. Also, Garcia has thrown over 200 yds only once since taking over. Hes gotten most of his points from TDs which can fluctuate. Not saying he wont be a great start, just Im nervous.

With all that said Im going with Rivers over Garcia (I think). I just think the KC-SD game will be more high scoring and will give Rivers more opportunities. Anybody know the over/unders for both games? You can usually get a good indication of what the score will be from them.

He's got a good matchup this week @ NYG so I picked him up as depth (or to block the Grossman/Kitna owner from picking him up).

I'm probably going with Garcia this weekend. I have Bulger, but I don't like the passing matchup, and I think the Rams will have success running against Oakland (if the Rams coach will stick with the run).

Good luck guys, starting Garcia over Bulger knocked me out of the playoffs. If I had my pick this week, I'd stick with Bulger.

Oooh, a cool 'point to the shirt' poster. I fail to see how that is helpful. I'm not #####ing about losing, I'm adding my experience, having faced the same choice last week, to the knowledge pool in the thread. Wheras your post is nothing, less than nothing. Garcia's a good QB and capable of good numbers but I think Bulger's a better play, bigger upside. He's got better receivers and throws many short passes to Jackson, and together they shredded the Bears D. I'd stick with Bulger.

Oakland has the #1 pass D, but aren't that good against the run. I don't think the Rams will have to pass all the time on Oakland and play catch up like they did against the Bears. Even though the Rams D isn't good, Oaklands offense isn't good either.

Garcia has not been throwing for a lot of yardage ~200/game. While he has thrown for a lot of TD passes, that can't possibly keep up.

Eli is the QB to play in this game, he should have no problem going for 300 & 3 TD's.

Garcia should be around 185 passing with 0 TD's.

Giants 27-13

Starting Garcia over both Vick and McNair. Time will tell whether or not I'm making the right decision.

Benched Bulger for Garcia this past week ... and lived to tell. Advanced to the semis, and debating the QB starter again.

The upshots for Garcia: great weather here in NYC on Sunday ... pass friendly scheme ... the G-Men will keep it close/be in the lead, thereby insuring Philly keep the pace up ...

Bulger is definitely the better QB, but ... does anyone honestly think the RAIHHHDAZZ can keep this one close? Bulger's success vs. the Bears was predicated on playing desperation, come from behind offense. Just don't see that scenario unfolding in Oaktown this Sunday, as the Rams ride SJax to victory. Bulger will need to do minimal damage to steer St. Louis to victory.

Based on the matchups, I like Garcia better. But, then again, I thought the same thing last week ... :D

Does anybody know how long of a contract Garcia signed with Philly? If he finishes strong, he could be one of the better looking FA QB's.

Now this is funny. Eli is not the QB to play. There is no way he goes for 300 & 3 TD's. The Giants will run all day

Don't worry about H.K....his arguements hold no water....He's quick to point out Garcia's low yardage totals, but FAILS to notice that Eli has only 2 games over 200 in his last 6!!!

He has only 3 since week 4!!!

But H.K expects Garcia to fail and Eli shine for 300 & 3!!!

Good call! NEXT!

Oh we will see who is wrong come Sunday. Dont forget, Giants have some O line problems as well. No way Eli goes for 300 and 3. No way

 You support your claim that the Giants will run all day by saying they have OL problems? All-righty then....

I support that claim with that for 2 reasons#1. You need to be able to block longer for passing then you do for running

#2. The Eagles are horrible against the run, The Giants have two good RB's

Very easy to see. You will see it on Sunday.

Well, at least now I know why we have different opinions. Unfortunately, I don't play in any leagues that reward points for attempts or completion percentage. All my leagues use stupid systems which gives points for passing yards, so Garcia throwing for under 200 yards 75% of his games isn't exactly what most people look for in a starting FF QB.

H.K. Are you trying to get people to make bad lineup decisions? You seem to regularly offer bad advice backed up by bad (fictional) data.

How is my data fictional? I posted the stats from Garcia's starts and they completely support my initial statement. Garcia has been fortunate to throw for a decent number of TD's since his first start, but except for one statistical outlier against Carolina, he is throwing for horrible yardage totals. Last week I told everyone to bench Peyton and start Brees, so I got ridiculed....whatever.Eli will have a better day than Garcia, in any scoring format, guaranteed.

Over 4 games Garcia has averaged 201 yards and 2 tds. Giants give up a lot to opposing QBs. Those are the stats. He's a solid, not spectacular, start this week.

What was the projection for Vick again last week? How'd that work out again?Garcia is averaging 163 and 1.6 in games against teams not called the Panthers.Look at the numbers, then look beyond the numbers. Garcia is a horrible play this week.

You are mistaking me for someone who follows your posts. Why are you talking about Vick?Cherry pick the games all you want. My league is td heavy so 150/2 scores more than 300/1, so I play him.

Garcia is a much safer start.Amani Toomer is out and the Eagles are susceptible to the run. What would your game plan be against the Eagles?

Pass to Stallworth-R.Brown- Westbrook-LJ.Smith-Alan McCannJust to say Alan McCann is their water boy! :football:

Starting Vick over garcia - just because I think vick MAY be the safer route to go and i have the better team. The thought of starting Garcia makes my stomache hurt.

:wall: Good one!

I bring up Vick because FBG had him ranked very high last week because it was a good match-up on paper(identical to Garcia this week), and Vick tanked.

Not so sure I agree with the high ranking for Garcia this week. I must say, though, that having Bulger going against Oakland's soft run D is making me have second thoughts......

Any Garcia supporter out there still like this "match-up"?

0 TD's....told ya he would tank it this week.
