Anyone else have their eyes on Gus Frerotte? (1 Viewer)

Seems like at some point, Childress has to either let Tavaris Jackson loose and deal with the mistakes ... or bench Jackson and start Frerotte.

Any Minnesota homers have some insight? Is it crazy to think Frerotte could be starting pretty soon?

Its highly likely that Frerotte will see playing time this season. Now whether he replaces Jackson, and produces is a whole different story. I think most likely scenario is they bench Jackson for lackluster play...to sit and learn some more and take a breather, Frerotte comes in...plays mediocre at best and then after 2-3 games max, Jackson is back in.

I think you leave Frerotte sit on waivers for now. Even if someone snags him, it should be minimal impact to you missing out.

Vikings homer hereMy take is this, Childress still has a lot riding on T Jackson so it may take a while for Ferotte to get a shot but he probably will at some point if he does I wouldn't count on a whole lot from him anyway, if I had to start any Vikings QB for anything else than a bye week then it's probably time to pack it in for the season.

Im keeping my eye on him, I doubt anything changes this week because the game was so close, but then again they were absolutely terrible in the redzone. I think Gus gets in there at some point in the next 2 to 3 weeks though, unless Tjax turns it around and fast

If you're banking on Jackson to fail, why wouldn't the long term play be Booty?
As a USC fan, Booty is horrible, he stares down WRs, he's too short a QB and throws with a side arm motion to make it in the nfl. In college 1 in every 5 passes was tipped because he's a midget and would need a 7 yard drop, which is LOL for a west coast offense. Plus if he doesnt have an hour to throw he throws it into a cluster f of defenders.
