Anyone ever been on nationally-televised TV? (pics of me on Real Housewives now uploaded!!) (1 Viewer)

A couple of years ago I was at an Irish pub for St. Patty's Day and the Real Housewives of Orange County filmed there.  I got a good amount of screen time.

Anyone else been on nationally-televised TV?  Or I guess we can expand this to TV in general....

just occurred to me I may have been on the real housewives too (NYC).

used to take my oldest to an indoor kids' club here in the city (toddler age). more stupid than you can imagine, but nice to have an indoor spot to go for him in the winter.

they filmed there one day when I was there with Jr- cameramen were practically trampling him and the other kids so they could get their shot of whoever the housewife was spending quality time with their brat. I never bothered to watch the show, so no idea if we made it in (we all had to sign wavers that day). tbh, I find those shows to be the harbingers of the apocalypse.

I was the closest fan to the goal when the Blackhawks scored two goals in 17 seconds to clinch the 2013 Stanley Cup. I was on tv all night. My picture was on the front of yahoo.  My buddies took pictures of their tv with me on it and texted me. I’m in the commemorative book that the hawks put together.

The next season someone came up to me and asked if I was sitting behind the goal in Boston for game 6.

Got about 60 seconds of screen time on Letterman. He came in to the audience to swap ties with a guy and wife and I were right there. Have that on DVD. Then wife and I were in Hawaii during one of the government shutdowns about 6 years ago when they closed Pearl Harbor, etc. We were at a Punchbowl National Cemetery and the news interviewed us. Had about a five minute interview with our name on the screen and everything.

This thread needs more links.
I actually found the news interview on Youtube. Bookmarked it! But given it gives my real name and shows the wife and I, I think I'd be more than a little hesitant to post a link to it here and subject myself to all that would come with it.

In 1994 I was a police cadet and found a stolen vehicle during a filming of our local "Cops" show. A few years ago I was interviewed by local news about a shooting I witnessed.

Eta: Never national screen time.

Nice! Too bad you have bad taste in music tho 😏
Flashback 20 years, yes, I was a fan of Limp Bizkit  :bag:

I was 16 years old at the time and filled with angst. Two of their songs, Pollution and Counterfeit from the 3 Dollar Bill album, fit right into my taste. This video was filmed before the song and album were released and before we found out what a clown Fred Durst turned out to be.

I was listening to 92.3 KROK (NY) one day and Fred Durst came on to promote their new album and mentioned that if any fans wanted to be in their next music video, to dial into the station to get the information. I call in, got the time and location and went with 5 or 6 other buddies. It was basically a party in an ally with a bunch of stoners, Pauly Shore (lol) and a band riding their 15 minutes. It was a blast.

All of mine are sports related:

  • Worked the goal post nets at two Eagles games, and was on TV in the background a bunch of times, especially kick attempts
  • A few seconds of footage from that second game was also included on the Super Bowl DVD
  • Attended the Eagles Hall of Fame banquet for Jeremiah Trotter and Merrill Reese and could be seen in the clips from the event that were on the local news stations
  • Sat front row for Monday Night Raw and could be seen through most of the broadcast
Found the Monday Night Raw footage. I'm bottom right, in the John Stockton jersey, right at the start of this clip. Around 3:30 mark I get some more camera time. There's also a famous wrestling magazine photo of the part where Michaels kicks Hart in the wheelchair taken with me facing the camera. Maybe I can find that, too.

Are you walking behind them on multiple occasions or is that where you are sitting?
They actually closed the patio off for a good half hour and filmed them, just them.  Then they opened it back up to make things look more "natural".  I was standing behind them and was in a few shots.
did they ask you to mill around in back of them on purpose or was it just that you happened to be there i guess i am trying to figure out how bs quote reality shows are take that to the bank brohan

Here's the magazine photo (and our chairs that we got to keep for sitting first row.)

I was nationally televised, but it was on the BBC in the United Kingdom.  Pulling Tug of War at the Royal Tournament in London.

I did not get lucky. I think I remember being afraid of the giant tooth. I do remember the whole studio atmosphere. It was sort of strange for a young fellah.
