Anyone ever check out the Interview Forum? (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
I went in there by mistake last night when I was using the pull-down tab to get back to the Pool. :lmao:

In addition to some great interviews by Cecil, I also learned that Joe and David are worth approximately $476 Gajillion dollars. :hot:

Seriously, it's a shame that content is somewhat buried in that forum. Check it out if you get a chance.

Thanks RN! What we've done on the Audible gets posted in the SP regularly, but I thought it would be nice to have a place where all the interviews could be in one spot on the forums. We don't have an Audible forum (yet), so NFL interviews worked nicely.

Anyone who has never listened to the audible is really missing out. There has been a lot of great topics discussed. Most recent was 5 shows on IDP leagues....if you play in IDP leagues, it is a must to listen. Among my other favorites were the draft recaps, Bloom and Pasquino explaining, discussing and debating some of their rankings, a lot of stuff related to the draft, and some talks with a few beat writers...some of which is going on now. Literally something for everyone

I enjoy the audible, but I'm a reader first. The audio format isn't appealing to me. A phone call, someone walks into my office, or at home the kids or someone/something else... interrupted audio is annoying, interrupted reading is natural. You just mark your spot, take care of the interruption, and carry on. Audio fragmented like that is a nuisance. Sure you can mark your spot (pause) and then carry on when ready, but it's bothersome to me for some reason. It could be the information comes at too fast a pace for me to digest the way I am used to. I cross reference most of the stuff I read as I read. Certainly Cecil and Sig can pack more into a 30 minute segment than they could sitting down and writing. I'm sure transcripts would be a huge job seeming like a waste of time and resources, but I would refer to them regularly. I usually have music playing too. Reading with music is relaxing. Listening to an interview and playing music are a bad mix. Now, if I am being overly critical, Sig and Cecil should know that I am a fan and admire their work to the point of being jealous of what they do, and any criticism from me is always meant to be constructive or just friendly opinion, but I'm wondering. Am I alone in these gripes? :goodposting:

The Detroit Lions insider interview was very informative...

FBG: Any chance the Lions take Calvin Johnson at #2?

Insider: No.

FBG: What about a QB to sit for a year or two behind Kitna?

Insider: I don't see that.

FBG: Tom knows the Lions like the back of his hand!

:lmao:

*by the way, I think Tom Kowalski has his finger on the pulse of the Lions as much as anybody, and this interview was done pre-Combine. I just found the interview kind of funny in hindsight. And to further defend Tom, he had come around to the idea of the Lions taking CJ AND a QB at some point by the time the draft was approaching.

That goes to show how much things change over a couple of months. Nobody thought the Lions would be looking at Calvin back when that was recorded. Many assumed the Lions were going to get Curtis, and if they had, they may have been more likely to trade back. I am glad things worked out like they did. Calvin is going to be a beast.
