Joining a new league this year and they draft strange. They repick draft order every two rounds. So the first two rounds you could pick first and 20th but then you repick draft order.

Anyone heard of this? Pros and cons would be appreciated..

no. I would find that to be annoying.

I suppose in the greater scheme of things, all would work out relatively equally, but I don't really see the point. I also think it's impossible to develop any sort of cohesive strategy for the draft, and hurts value picks because you don't know how long it will be before you pick again.

I suppose if you selected the complete draft order ahead of time, it just changed every two rounds, you could come up with a gameplan, but again, I don't see the point in this method.

I've done it twice. I HATED it. Can't plan your next pick every other round. Finally got them to stop when we started using draft software as it was too much trouble.

Offer to bring the Free version of Draft Dominator and a projector for them. Of course you may want to modify the projections somewhat :)

We did it for about 4 years. We pulled all the draft positions out a few weeks before the draft so all your spots were mapped out already.

Pros:

-if you pulled the last pick you were not stuck there all the way through the draft with it. The redrafting evened things out in this regard a bit.

-The #1,2,3 picks didnt automatically get the 1,2,3rd picks in the 3rd round. (I think this is a real advantage in larger 12 teams or more where there is still very high quality players)

Cons:

-You usually have to manually load up the entire draft spot by spot into whatever you are using to track the draft (online or DD) Takes some time.

-For the guys that follow along on paper, it's not as easy as up and back on a sheet to follow.

Overall we liked it and would have kept it except we went with a draft lottery selection this year where you pick your spot from 1-12, where you would like to draft.

My main money league drafts like that. We draw the draft order in Feb. when we hand out money and the trophy. I find it leads to quite a bit of trading of picks over the summer and especially now right before the draft. People try to position themselves in later rounds. Can't say I love it, but don't hate it either, its something different than my other leagues.

We do this for the 1st 3 rounds.. after round 5 we keep the picks the same.

overall it's not that bad because it gives everybody another chance at a top

pick in the 3rd round etc..

Kinda loike this in my league only every round is redrawn on the day of the draft starting with the last pick and going up. Suprisingly doesnt take very long to do this for 168 picks. Putting them into the computer and printing the draft sheets for the board takes longer. Kinda adds to the atmosphere of trash talking the whole time. like evry year one guy gets screwed with late round picks until we get to the first few rounds and he ends up with really good picks to start the draft.
