anyone got the cajones to start A.Walter or A.Smith? (1 Viewer)

last week i started the 'anyone got the cajones to start Charlie Frye thread', and for myself and anyone else out there who went with Frye, he did not disappoint vs. an Oakland Defense that is struggling, to say the least as he threw 3 TDs with 2 INTs.

This week I ask: Does anyone have the cajones to start either Andrew Walter or Alex Smith?

A much riskier proposition in my mind than Frye was last week, but could pay huge dividends.

One or both of these guys could be good spot starters this week for someone facing matchup problems or has a QB with a bye

Who wins this battle of young QBs on stuggling teams and who puts up the better numbers?

I don't see a problem starting Smith. He's been pretty good this season last week excepted. I think he's a good start this week.

I can't imagine anyone other than those in a 32-team league that would want to start Walter, though. He looked absolutely pathetic last week against the Browns.

anyone think that starting Smith or Walter could end up backfiring big-time and both defenses could conceivably come out fired up and play this as if it were their 'Super Bowl?'

I have Hass on bye this week so I am going with Smith, although I did just pick up Huard so i do have a choice. Right now I'm leaning to Smith.

Cajones Not really but I am starting Walter this week.

My other two QB’s (Hasselbeck & Carr) are on a bye this week. I drafted Brooks to back up Hasselbeck because of this matchup. Carr was my next to last pick and I didn’t expect much out of him so I didn’t care about his bye week.

:hey:

ASmith is actually a good start.

If I didn't have an even better matchup with Brad Johnson against Detroit, I'd start ASmith - both are better than McNair in Denver.

I've got Smith starting in two separate leagues, but both allow me to use a second QB in the 'flex' position.

If not for that loophole, Alex would still be riding the pine for me in both leagues.

Also have Palmer (bye week) and need to pick between Alex Smith and Leftwich.

Right now I have a sneaky feeling about Alex Smith bouncing back! :banned:

Slight hijack! I have to decide between Bledsoe, Plummer, and Smith. I've pretty much ruled out Plummer vs. Baltimore. Can anybody tell me some history about how well Bledsoe typically does in Philly?OK more than a slight hijack!

I have Palmer on bye, Warner on bench and no one on the WW except the Bucs QB or Andrew Walter

I am starting Walter......I AM SO ####ED :bag:

I got the big brass Cajones Im starting Smith over Bledsoe this week. Bledsoe and Owens probably blow up, but I believe that Alex will have a great bounce back game.

I have had A.Smith since week 1. He's a great start this week as is Frank Gore and the rest of the Niners...don't overthink the KC game, that was bound to happen. Teams get waxed in KC every year. I like the niners to bounce back big this week.

In a league with short benches I had Warner & Lienert. I dropped Warner and picked up ASmith. Do you really see BJohnson having a better game than Smith? The Vikings have been struggling to put the ball in the endzone. If they are going to turn it around, this is the week, but I feel more comfortable starting Smith. San Fran hasn't had quite as much problem getting TD's.
