Anyone "poaching" Betts in Drafts? (1 Viewer)

Have pick 1.06 in a redraft tomorrow. Will stay away from Portis as I already am long his stock in a Dynasty League and instead will go with either Jackson or Brown.

Betts' ADP is ~ Round 10. What do folks think about "poaching" Betts away from the Portis' owner? I wouldn't "reach" to do this, but if he's still sitting there at 10.07 I'm seriously considering the poach.

Anyone else employing the same strategy?

Tried to "beat the rush" a little bit but then again RBs went quicker than normal in that league

Personally, I like him better than(aside from Bush) the popular rookies so I was targetting him

FWIW, I'm doing an Antsports 10 team mock draft (disclaimer: NOT an actual draft) and he fell to me at 12.10. It was probably due to the player pop-up selection screens based on past mocks and I seriously doubt such a thing would happen in a real live draft.

Based on the multiple threads, I think he could be one of those guys who ends up being slightly overvalued by a few people in most leagues who have followed the Portis injury saga. From a value standpoint, I wouldn't think about taking him until round 8, and that would depend on who else is there at RB (Greg Jones from Jax, for instance.) Betts could very well be gone by then. If you draft Betts, who has never actually done much, you are leaving another prospect on the table, probably a player with more upside. Because of hte portis scare, I think people will be reaching for him too early.

im not sure why drafting a guy that you like is a sinister move, poaching or ungentlemenlike. If you draft Betts, who has never actually done much, you are leaving another prospect on the table, probably a Qb that more upsideThis is not a big deal.

For taking RB's with his first 5 picks, he didn't end up with a terrible team. I'm simply questioning the RB-RB-RB-RB-RB strategy and the Dillon/Maroney/White picks in rd. 3-5, and Joe J. in round 7. Nevertheless, if things work out for him, his team will be fairly strong.

In a keep 12 team, keep 10 salary cap league, he went EARLY 3rd to a guy with multiple early picks. I believe it was actually his 5th pick of the evening. As a Portis owner, I was hoping to grab him with one of my 3rds, as I had no 1 or 2.

20 team redraft- 7.5 pick 125. I did not pick Portis. But I will be emailing any injury ubdates that look favorable to the Portis owner. Its fun drafting other people's handcuffs...
