Anyone rolling Kitna into their lineup this week? (1 Viewer)

I haven't been watching any of his games, but his yardage stats are solid. And...minimal mistakes. They are at home against GB. Good this be the week we see some of the Martz airshow?

I'm *almost* ready to give him a shot.... :banned:

(I don't have many better options either since Trent has left the building)

I'm monitoring the status of Ahman Green to determine if I start Favre over Kitna. They are both good plays this week against suspect Ds, but I give the edge to Favre if Green's OK.

Maybe you would feel more comfortable in the AC forum. This is the big boy pool.

I think this is a great week to play Kitna - home against the Pack

First two weeks were very tough defensive opponents, but I expect him to open up this week....and I am starting him

f yeah i'm starting him... it's stupid how close to putting up 70 points detroit was in the first two games.

I'm throwing him out there over Alex Smith this week. Lions are at home and due for a win, and the Pack is ripe for the plucking.

Big numbers? Nah, probably not. But 230 plus and 2 TDs is not out of the question.

Had him in over Hass (vs. NYG) earlier in the week, but have since talked myself out of it w/ SA dinged and the giants couging up a ton of passing points in the first 2 weeks.

Kitna is due for some TDs considering he's been very efficient thus far. I'm going to wait on him till the DET offense actually does get (half-way) close to laying 40 on someone.

I'm guessing 25-38 for 275 and 1/2 scores for "air Martz" this week.

Yes, by all means, post in the ACF, so you can get that one single-syllable response to your post.with that said, I've noticed Kitna's stats too. Keep in mind, he's just learning M.Martz offense. I can see that stat-wise (and fantasy wise) this is the week (vs GB) that it'll start to pay dividends.

I picked up Kitna this week off the WW, even though I started 2-0 in that league, it certainly wasn't because of the efforts of the 2QBs I picked up at the draft; Plummer & Brooks...

I swallowed my pride and dropped them both in order to pick up Kitna and Alex Smith, even though Kitna is yet to throw for a TD, he has been very efficient and has gathered good yardage against 2 very good defenses...

Yes I will be starting him this week in what seems like a more favorable matchup than the 2 previous ones...

So if you don't have one of the "Stud" QBs in your roster, yes I think he is worth some serious consideration...

starting him over plummer - have bledsoe on the bench. no better time than this game to see what kitna's got

I was all ready to start him this week over Big Ben and CPepp, but with Miami playing the Titans, I'll stick with CPepp one more week.

I am giving Kitna the start this week against a very suspect Green Bay secondary. Only the Giants and Houston have given up more yards passing than Green Bay the 1st 2 weeks.

Kitna has been fairly good not throwing a interception yet in 67 pass attempts against some good defenses Seattle and Chicago. The only TD the Lions have scored so far was by Kitna calling his own number from the 1 yard line. Roy Williams could get silly this week against Green Bay.

Kevin Jones has been contributing as a reciever which helps pad Kitnas yardage numbers. KJ still has not done well running the ball and I don't see him getting untracked against Green Bays run defense which is above average. So Kitnas pass attempts should be more than 30 for the 3rd week in a row.

So Kitnas yardage should be 250+ with a good chance to throw for his 1st TD of the year and maybe more than one.

I have been comparing Kitnas chances againt Alex Smiths as my 2 choices this week. I like Smiths offensive weapons better than what Kitna has. But Phillys D is much more dangerous to a Qb than I see Green Bays being. So I am giving the nod to Kitna for this game.

Lot of guys starting him over Bulger. Is that such a hard decision though? I had Bulger and cut him earlier this week for Favre. I hear Bulger is having problems adapting to the new offense and 1 shorty TD ain't gonna cut it. Kitna seems like a no brainer over Bulger. ????

bulger has had one more TD pass than kitna, and bulger has a decent matchup against the cards...not to mention better overall talent around him.i am going with kitna over bulger myself, but i can see why people might be inclined to put some thought into it.

Bulger is NOT having problems adapting to the new offense - rather Linehan is emphasizing the running game and wants to rely less on throwing as much. That said, I would bet on Bulger's numbers against being his best game to date - even if Jackson runs wild - should be a high scoring game.

Ok. Thanks for the input. For my sake, I hope not.

Not offended at all. I just think the "who should I start" and the "I think I may start" affirmation threasd belong somewhere else. If you like Kitna, sack up and start him. If you are questioning it - then: a.) don't start him, or b.) take your question to the appropriate forum. Also, I am an 18 year veteran and will, on occasion, try to help someone in AC with a real opinion. If you guys are that uncomfortable with the level of help you get there - then post something worthwhile that will make that forum a higher quality place to get information.

I do think this thread is a football discussion about the validity of Jon Kitna as a starter compared to other Qbs this week. And thus a Shark Pool topic. People who do not own Kitna might be interested in how Kitna owners percieve him. In some leagues Kitna might be a free agent that owners might consider picking up. This is also a strategy discussion about evaluating potential starters.
