Anyone set up a VPN or something to play online poker in the US? (1 Viewer)

I'm surprised I haven't seen this discussed here with all the poker nerds. I think -- but I'm not expert -- that there's a way to play online poker in the US by either spoofing your IP address or playing from a computer outside the country via VPN. Anyone ever try this? Degree of difficulty to set it up?

TIA

There are still sites that you can play on. I play on Intertops now, although you do need an invite to play there now. I think black chip will accept US players also.

This would do the trick. I use this all the time, not really for poker. But they have servers in many different countries you can route traffic through.

this is a fabulous VPN. I use it as well. It is so good I almost never take it down for my desktop computer.
i leave it on 24/7. Came in handy when that ssl issue on apple OS hit and there was no patch. i knew all my traffic was encrypted. Well worth the $35 a year.

How will any of this allow me to play at a site that bans US players? Since I live in the US, how would I deposit $ and how would they send me the $? I used to just request some w2innings from Pacific Poker and a check arrived in the mail thru Gilbralter and Canada. They certainly won't be sending me checks to a US address anymore.

FYI that SSL issue was still a problem for you regardless of a VPN.

true, but I think it depends on how the VPN is setup. Also im using Chrome and routing all traffic through the vpn which i believe limited my exposure prior to the patch being released.

Nope, not at all. It's a bug in the system that allows for what's essentially a man in the middle attack. The VPN didn't limit a single thing.
