Anyone starting Addai this week? (1 Viewer)

Tough matchup for Addai this week. The 1st time he faced the Jags he was held to 3-15 and 3-13. That was his lowest FF output of the year. Yes it was only week 3. but in week 2 he did get 16-82 and 2-22-1td. So it wasn't like IND didn't know that he could perform.

Who are you starting him over or sitting him for?

I am considering starting R Moss or Caldwell over him this week.

If my next best options were Moss and Caldwell, Addai would be in. I am on the fence between him and McGahee.

How comfortable are you guys with him after seeing Rhodes get those GL carries last week?
I didn't follow the entire flow of game - was Addai actually pulled at the stripe, or was Rhodes in the whole time on that series and was given the chance to finish the job?

2-6-TEN7 (8:12) P.Manning pass incomplete short middle to J.Addai (D.Thornton). PENALTY on TEN-A.Haynesworth, Defensive Offside, 4 yards, enforced at TEN 7 - No Play. 2-2-TEN3 (8:06) D.Rhodes left guard to TEN 2 for 1 yard (K.Bulluck, T.Brown). 3-1-TEN2 (7:22) D.Rhodes right tackle for 2 yards, TOUCHDOWN. He was in there from the 7, but pulled when they get to the 3. Very depressing. But, for all we know, he may have had an equipment problem or something. I also seemed that Rhodes saw a lot more carried inside the opponents 50 yd line than he normally did.

Addai got the goal-line carries at the end of the game, so it's silly to over-react to the Rhodes TD. Barring injury, this much is guaranteed: Addai will likely get around 20 touches and probably at least one shot at the goal-line. I'll always take that over some crappy third-tier wide receiver.

I start Addai every week and aside from one or two weeks, it's been pretty poor.

I need a big week from Addai next week and I'm hoping I get it.

How they equate Rhodes to the same status as Addai, I'll never know.

Good luck figuring out how they decide who gets the GL carries. Addai had most of the carries on the drive when Rhodes punched it in from the 1. Just when it looked like Addai was the clear GL back after the PHIL game.

Cincy is pretty good against the run... i think he'll do better than today... but not amazingly well.as for who is the "Goalline Back"... i hope this drive isn't a glimpse of the future

1-10-IND20 (14:12) J.Addai left end to IND 21 for 1 yard (D.Smith).

2-9-IND21 (13:35) P.Manning pass short middle to R.Wayne to IND 42 for 21 yards (R.Mathis).

1-10-IND42 (12:59) J.Addai up the middle to IND 49 for 7 yards (B.McCray).

2-3-IND49 (12:24) J.Addai up the middle to JAX 47 for 4 yards (D.Smith).

1-10-JAC47 (11:45) P.Manning pass incomplete short right to M.Harrison.

2-10-JAC47 (11:40) (Shotgun) J.Addai up the middle to JAX 46 for 1 yard (J.Henderson). IND-A.Bethea was injured during the play. His return is Questionable.

3-9-JAC46 (11:00) (Shotgun) P.Manning pass to R.Wayne to JAX 15 for 31 yards (D.Grant).

1-10-JAC15 (10:39) D.Rhodes up the middle to JAX 7 for 8 yards (D.Smith). JAX-M.Stroud was injured during the play. His return is Probable.

2-2-JAC7 (10:08) D.Rhodes up the middle to JAX 6 for 1 yard (P.Spicer).

3-1-JAC6 (9:33) J.Addai up the middle to JAX 5 for 1 yard (J.Henderson).

1-5-JAC5 (8:56) D.Rhodes up the middle to JAX 1 for 4 yards (D.Grant).

2-1-JAC1 (8:21) D.Rhodes right tackle for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN.

again... what's the deal there? Addai is good enough for 3rd and 1 on the 6 yardline but not the follwing 2 short yardage carries? I was watching on Sopcast (not full screen) and i didn't notice any "equipment failure" that would force Addai off the field... but it's possible i missed something

Started KJones, RBush, MJDrew over him.

Looks like he'll be taking Jones' spot for the rest of the year now though.

I really feel this is hurting INDY. I didnt see ANY of the game, but if they would give the ball to ONE guy I think they could get in a rhythm and start making progress.

Rhodes is a lesser RB, I think that is established. But to take away Goalline carries from him even though he has been VERY successful is assinine really.

Oh well, as long as Chester Taylor is ok, Addai is bench material.

Rhodes has been decent at the stripe himself, so I don't think it's a big deal (at least from an NFL perspective, obviously huge in FF) who runs the ball for the last yard. I do agree overall that the running game clearly appears to function better with Addai as the primary back.

You think? I'm playing against Addai this week in the playoffs, and he scares me to DEATH on Monday night against the Bengals run defense. Yes, they have been playing better of late, but...
