Anyone starting Kitna? (1 Viewer)

SOONERS

Really like Kitna's matchup this week. Most have Kitna as qb2/3 (like me) but I think as the stretch nears for playoff positioning, I'm going w/him oveer Vick/Eli. Kinda rolling the dice in a sense w/Kitna, b/c ya never know w/Detroit but he has been playing well.

Who else is doing this & over whom?? curious

I started the season w/Plummer as QB1 and Kitna as QB2. Then I went switched it around. Then I dropped Plummer for Leftwich. Now I "have to" start Kitna (trading deadline has passed). I really don't mind starting Kitna. He has been performing decent for me. The past couple of seasons the QB position has been a bad one for me. Last year rolling out with Culpepper and then this year with Plummer. As long as my QB gets me 10-16 pts I'll be happy... just no negative points please.

After last week's dud, I don't feel real confident in him. I am starting Brady vs. GB over Kitna cause on paper it is a better matchup and Brady is way overdue.

Kitna's around #10 ranked QB in my league - with a juicy matchup against AZ - unless you have one of the elite QBs how can you not start him? I have Big Ben and Hass/Wallace - going with Kitna without hesitation.

I've got Bulger and Kitna. Haven't started Kitna all season because of Bulger's strong play (I have Holt too, so I've been doubling up on the connection), but I'm leaning toward Kitna this week vs. AZ. Bulger has Panthers in CAR, without O. Pace protecting his blind side, and I'm worried about it. It seems Kitna's floor is pretty decent this week, with the chance for a very high ceiling.

Going with him over Brady (not too far of a stretch), but at 9-1 and having played KIitna almost every week I'm leavin with who brung me, so to speak. I dont think theres much need to worry about last weeks game, I think we are taking harder because we saw SF as a game Detroit should have won. Detroit though, needs to pass to open the run and last week was Kitnas second worst game (week 1 was the worst), you should look for a strong rebound

Im thinking 225-250payds, 2tds, 1int, 20 ru yds

I agree, but last week was a little discouraging. Enough to make me gun shy.

I've been starting him all year, what's the problem with a QB#6 for a QB#13-16 price?

He's been solid and I expect more of the same this week.

Starting Carson over him in one and going back and forth between him and Brees in another. Kitna should have a good game against the Cards but the problem is will he have a better game than some other QB matchups this weekend, which look enticing.

I am on the fence between Kitna and Delhomme vs St. Louis. I think both can do well, but have their risks. I expect Roy to have a MONSTER game so I may just go Kitna.

I'm in the same boat. I'm going to start Kitna for the same reasons this week. I'm just praying Bulger holds up w/o Pace with SF, Ariz, and Oak all upcoming :banned:

I've got the same deal. I'm starting Kitna this week, along with Roy Williams.

Kitna, Bulger, Holt owner here.Starting Kitna. Probably starting Colston and Wayne and benching Holt :bag:

I've got Bulger, Kitna, and Favre in a start 2 QB league. I think I'm going with Bulger and Kitna this week. I can't bring myself to bench Bulger as good as he's been all season, and I think Kitna's matchup is just too good.

I've got Kitna, Delhomme and Pennington and have been starting Kitna most weeks. With our league's scoring system he's currently ranked 6th among QB's, and he's done well for me. With the matchup he has this week, I'm definitely starting him.

:goodposting: I felt really good last week and he cost me a W. Also, the Cards haven't given up that many passing TDs and Detroit simply isn't a high scoring team.

Last week was a strange game - Det O made a lot of mistakes but SF had a crazy time of possession advantage. Every time they got the ball they held it for 7-8 minutes. Det O didn't get a lot of opportunities until the 2nd half.

I don't see Az pulling that off with a rookie QB - I say Kitna has a strong game and is a good start this week. If he falls flat this week then he should not play the rest of the year on any fantasy team!

Same dilemma. I am LEANING towards KITNA right now. I don't like Bulger without Pace as that has been a disaster in previous years. The reason Kitna had bad numbers last week was that they had 4 turnovers. You won't win that way, and I think 3 of them were fumbles, one I know by R. Williams and K. Jones.

I'm facing this too, I started the season with Hassleback & Delhomme and picked up Kitna during Delhommes bye and have started him since. I'm leaning towards Kitna as well though.

One thing to keep in mind, I doubt the Pats make the same mistake 3 weeks running- that mistake which cost them the Colts and Jets game was getting away from the run in the second half. I dont hitnk this is going to look anything like the Minny game, unless GB hits a few early TD's

kitna didnt play well last week

but keep in mind (if your a little gun shy this week)

san fran ran the ball down their throats last week and the lions only had the ball for a few drives in the first half

the lions run defense has been pretty bad since shaun rogers went out, but i dont see edgerrin getting 8 yards a pop like gore was getting.

i think az will score but i think they will do it more through the air giving kitna more opportunities himself to put up numbers.

kitna started getting some yards in the 2nd half when the d started shutting down the run(and after gore left the game)

he is probably one of the more consistent guys this year

i say he will get his usual 230-260+at least 1 TD and be a safe start

just found these #s

Tough, tough decisions this week.

I have BOTH Kitna and Leinart. I could see both secondaries torn apart, but I'm actually leaning towards Leinart.

I also have Romo. Could be shootout vs. Indy, but I think it's going to be the Jones/Barber show.. Really, really torn on this decision.

Time of possession or not, I was not happy with Kitna last week. How's he done on the road, on grass?

People here are really scared of Mike Rucker tearing Bulgers face off I guess...

Kitna is a solid play. Ive been using him most of the season.

This week he has a better than average matchup against the Cardinals who are 29th ranked defense against the pass so he could have a huge game.

But you need to temper your expectations somewhat because Lions TDs might come on the ground like they did suprisingly when the Lions played Atlanta who has a similarly poor pass defense and a better run defense than the Cardinals do.

After losing TOP last week against the 9ers I expect the Lions to make more of an effort to keep thier defense off the field longer this week so that means more running plays.

It could go either way.. the Cards defense suxor.. just saying..

My opponent is starting Kitna against me this week, but then again his other QBs are Huard and Leinart.

(FWIW, I'm starting McNair over Eli this week)

I plan on starting him over grossman, but either play should be fine ...
I think this is a smart play as the Jets have a hard time stopping the run. I can see Chicago using Jones AND Benson to wear down the Jets D. Grossman could have a respectable day, but the Det/Arz game smells like a shoot-out.

KitnaRomoLeinart...or...RomoKitnaLeinartIf I had to make the choice, I'd start Romo because you should expect 2 tds.I'm starting Palmer over Kitna.

Add me to the list of many Bulger/Kitna owners going with Kitna this week.I'm not "jumping off the ship" on Bulger qith Pace out, but Kitna's matchup seems very solid and with Pace out, Bulger might not be as much of an automatic as he has been thus far.

I'm ecstatic to start Kitna this week. The Det/Ariz game has shootout written all over it. 300 yds and 2-3 td's. :boxing:

Arizona's pass defense isn't that bad. There are only 7 defenses who have given up less TDs than Arizona thru the air. But they do give up top 5 yardage.

from what i saw last week, they are absolutely dreadful. dallas' receivers were so wide open it was obscene.

I base my opinion on a season's work, not one week. To put this in perspective....So they gave up 2 TDs last week. That means they had only given up 7 TDs thru their first 8 games.

the whole team is going down the drain in all facets. keep looking at your stat sheet, i'll watch the games and make an informed opinion.

I am having all kinds of problems deciding between Kitna and Romo... We start 2 QB's and McNair is a must start I feel against the banged up Falcons. With our league's scoring system Kitna and Romo come out exactly the same using the projections. As of now I am going with Kitna, I think he is the safer play. Who knows what will go on in the Indy/Dallas game.

:bag: Kitna meet FF bench - he looked putrid this week!
So much of the Lions offense (both running and passing) centers around Kevin Jones that when Jones left the game early, it threw the entire Lions offense into disarray. Keep an eye on Kevin Jones status and downgrade/upgrade Kitna accordingly.

Yeah, that didn't work out so well. This hobby sucks.
it's nice to have guys like ladainian and 85... then you can start kitna's mother at QB and it doesn't matter. :P but yes, the luster is starting to come off the potential of the lions offense :(
