Anyone think Fred Taylor will be a RB2 this year? (1 Viewer)

Just wondering if anyone thinks Taylor will be work a RB2 spot this year (he is 30), but from what I have heard on Sirius NFL radio....he looks in good shape....maybe future trade bait?

This is a nicely hidden assistant coach thread but I guess I'll weigh in. I think Taylor is a heck of a RB3 this year and possible RB2 depending on the size of your league. At #10 in the rookie draft you are looking at a longshot RB prospect or another mediocre candidate so if you think you can win I'd pull the trigger and you'd be very deep at RB. If you have a desperate need for a WR/QB prospect then maybe not but I think value wise he's still worth far more than rookie #10.

I have no faith in Taylor. He could prove me wrong, but I for one won't be drafting him.
Agreed, I'm surprised he's being taken so early in drafts. Part of the reason I don't like him is that Jones looked decent last year. Additionally, I believe Drew can play at the NFL level.

I'm a fan of Greg Jones. I can't wait to see what Drew can do now that he's in the big time.

Agree 100%.When a RB3 has 3 handcuffs, it's probably not worth the hassle. I've seen people with 3 JAX RBs on the roster. At some point, you just have to say no. =)

He could be a servicable RB2, though I am not overly optimistic for Fred Taylor.

I think that he could be a good yardage producer, but I'd be cautious about expecting a large number of TDs from Taylor. Historically, FT has struggled in short-yardage situations, and Greg Jones will most surely be used in those situations, including goal-line formations.

I'd say that about 900 yards rushing, 300 yards receiving and 6-7 TDs are realistic numbers.

I would like to think that, but he's been too inconsistent, and very injury prone. I've like Fred ever since he joined the league, and is a great guy, but if you look at the past, you couldn't be too optimistic about him being a slid #2
