Anyone use Vivint Security System? (1 Viewer)

So just had a fellow from a security company called Vivint stop by. I usually don't talk to salesmen but we happen to be searching for a security company. Presentation showed some pretty slick stuff, keyless door locks, doorbell with built in video and speaker that can be accessed by internal panel or on your cell phone, which is motion activated. Glass breakage detection for the windows. Seemed like a really cool, high tech, modern system. And, as they are new to this area, entire installation would be free.

I had been looking at ADT, and this Vivint would be more monthly. But this system looked really slick. I liked the camera motion activated camera system (with IR for night viewing) and being able to talk to someone on my porch even if we are out on the road somewhere. But, as I have never heard of these guys, just wondering if anyone has experience with them. Sounds like they've been around awhile and are in several states. I'll research them via the web of course, BBB, etc. But wondered if anyone here might have first hand experience with them.

Never heard of them myself:

My in-laws use them and I recently did a lot of research when looking to move on from Xfinity home. In-laws are happy with them, but they are seniors and like the hands-off approach and that's reflected in the pricing, both monthly and up-front. They call them up and then send someone out to do everything, usually with a fee unless it's to fix something under warranty. They also are a little high-pressure with add-ons and upgrades.

I ultimately went with Live Watch where a lot of the set-up is (easily) DIY and I can buy my own equipment on eBay or Amazon (like remote door locks, carbon monoxide detectors, etc.) and add them myself. They use any Z-Wave devices. With Vivint, all the equipment has to be theirs and purchased from them.

In my research, this site was a huge help: http://www.asecurelife.com/

ETA: After being locked into ADT (with outdated technology) and then Xfinity (with horrible customer support and problem equipment) for 3 years each, Live Watch's 1-year contract and no-cancellation fee (in addition to the low monthly monitoring and other benefits) was what put it #1 for us.

Ton's of folks have it in my neighborhood.  I don't feel the need to have one myself, but all of my neighbors love it.

Can't tell you much more than that....Judging by signs in yards, Vivant is the top Alarm company in the Jackson, MS area.

I bought a bunch of ADT stickers and a yard sign off of eBay for about $20 several years ago... no break-ins yet.

Once had an ADT rep going door to door in the neighborhood and asked me how I liked my system while I was out mowing the lawn... "Works great"
