No. 92 gave his foot a test on the Giants Stadium turf on Sunday before deciding that he wasn't ready. He may still not be ready for this week's game, despite its huge implications. "I'm not putting any time limit or time frame on it now," Strahan told WFAN Monday. "This thing just takes time to heal."
Four weeks in now. About average for a Lis Franc sprain. Sounds like he was closer this week but still not ready. With the Giants still in playoff contention, surgery is likely still not an option. Looking like at least another week before he can practice, though, and probably longer.
He still seems motivated to play. He should be fine in 2007.
It's starting to look like DE Michael Strahan is done for the season. Neither Strahan nor HC Tom Coughlin sounded very optimistic yesterday about the his chances of recovering from his mid-foot sprain in time to play in any of the final three regular-season games. An orthopedic surgeon told the Daily News in November that Strahan's season was likely over. Strahan said one reason he's optimistic about a return is he had a similar injury as a rookie in 1993, and "one day I woke up and it was just gone," he said.
