AP/Chester Owners - starting BOTH vs DET next week? (1 Viewer)

Peterson has stayed healthy this year, which is obviously a great thing. But those owners who also drafted the CTaylor handcuff haven't gotten much value out of that pretty high pick. That could change this week though.

After seeing what CJ and Lendale did to the Lions on Thanksgiving, it might be a reasonable risk to realize some value in your Chester investment by throwing him out there as your RB2 this Sunday. Anybody going all in with the Vikings RB's this week?

I'm toying with the idea. I'd have to start Taylor ahead of Lynch to do it.

I'm waiting to see how banged up Peterson really did get last night.

Remember, the Lions are getting extra prep time this week. Meanwhile Minny just had a huge win last night. All the makings of an upset. Makes me a little nervous.

I woke up thinking about this possibility, but I'd have to bench CJ3 against Cleveland to make it happen.

Toying with the idea of sitting Ginn or Marvin in a ppr for Chester ...

ETA: Probably just thinking about Ginn. Marvin has been really good at home.

I have a bye this week so the points total is the only thing that I am playing for this week and I am probably out of contention. It has been my philosophy to play all of your players against DET except maybe for your QB. I will probably do it. He is a lock for at least one TD and probably 50 yards combined. That is if he has a slow day.

I'm gonna pull the trigger on this and start both myself.

He'd go in on my last starting spot at Flex #3 (Start: QB/RB/WR/TE/PK/DF + 3 FLEX from RB/WR/TE)

This isn't a WDIS, but more of a "I'm starting Chester Taylor over _______ against the Lions."

I've thought about it but it's the first week of playoffs in our league and I have Turner vs. Saints, Leon vs. SF (return yardage league and he's ranked top ten) and Ronnie vs. Buffalo. As tempting as that matchup is, I think he's going to be riding my bench.

I don't know many people are going to feel comfortable making that gamble when the playoffs are starting for most leagues - unless you are decimated by injuries you're going to feel really stupid if you lost because you gambled on Chester getting some garbage time. Childress is an absolute moron and he could ride ADP the whole game or he could play Chester the majority of the snaps.

I really need a win in my 10 team league and have him on the bench. I may plug him in. I have a ton of RB's on that team but that matchup is nice. All Chester needs is one touch and he could break off a TD run.

My options are Ronnie or Pierre to pair with ADP. If Deuce gets suspended, Pierre may get the call - but Chester has to get some serious consideration. If the game is out of hand by the 4th quarter, ADP may not see the field. There could be some serious garbage time stats to earn there, and add to the points Chester picked up on 3rd and passing downs in the first 3 quarters. It is enticing.

Wow, that's really tempting. I don't want to start a hurting Barber vs. Pittsburgh. My other options areBush, Hillis, Choice, and Taylor. Plus I'm fighting my opponent to clinch a playoff spot. I may have to roll with the AP/Chester combo.

:goodposting: It's a huge gamble but I don't think it's a smart play if you have better options. Matchups are great but at a certain point people start reaching.Chester doesn't rank in the top 30 in my league...he might have a big week but his earlier chance with Detroit didn't go so well. And don't ever underestimate the Childress factor.

We don't have a flex, so it would be starting over Gore. After the last two weeks of Gore-y numbers, I'll have to admit I've thought about it for about 8 seconds. I won't do it though....

Thanks for posting this. I remembered it was a disappointment that week. That game was in Detroit though so that might make a difference. And if it is even possible, I think Detroit is worse now than they woere then. The cancer of a losing culture has spread much worse at this later stage of the season. I think it will be better this time but this is a great reminder.

I am probably going to do it. My only other option is Tim Hightower. He's been pretty bad as of late, but his only great game came against the Rams who he has again this week. Peterson really took a beating last night. it seemed like every tackle was a big hit and he kept coming off the field dinged up. Luckily this week is the last week of our regular season and I've locked up the #1 seed, so I am not out anything either way.

This strategy wouldn't have worked too well the last time the Vikings played the Lions, when they kicked 4 FG's to win 12-10. But if you have fringe RB's to choose from, Chester could be worth a look.
