breaking news. very sad.

even though ap didnt have a real father son relationship, it is still his son.

i dont know them personally but i send my blessings to the family.

As a Father and somone who loves Children it makes me physically ill to think what that poor boy was thinking.

Life can be so unfair sometimes. I'd like to think he's in a better place now.

While it is always tragic when a small child dies, I don't think we should rush to judgement in vilifying Joseph Robert Patterson. Let's let the legal system do its job, for all we know he killed the child in self-defense or maybe he accidentally hugged him too tightly for too long a time. Let's not jump the gun here.

If this is how you feel why did you like my comment? Very misleading. Also, "hey, this guy has a different opinion than me! Ban him!"

Self defense?

Explain a scenario.

Explain a scenario.
Self-defense or private defense (see spelling differences) is a countermeasure that involves defending oneself, one's property, or the well-being of another from harm.[1] The use of the right of self-defense as a legal justification for the use of force in times of danger is available in many jurisdictions, but the interpretation varies widely.[2]

*Edit: maybe the child came at him.

How can a 2 year old come at a grown up and have them fear for their safety?

Explain.

I think it's obvious that in this scenario the child would have to be brandishing some kind of deadly weapon or force (i.e. using a vehicle as a weapon). I don't know, I just don't want to jump the gun here, we don't know, that's the point.

Any chance when treesarepeopletoo gets banned we can know what his other aliases are. He is likely a regular poster here that people know.

Law student here. Most jurisdictions will use a self-defense statute similar to this:

 • "A person is justified in the use of deadly force against another only when he reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself."
I can't imagine a scenario where the above elements would be satisfied. That being said, the guy is innocent until proven guilty. That is all—proceed grilling the troll.

The troll is strong in this one :fishing:
No it isn't, the self restraint of the people actually answering him is weak.
Some people just have very low IQs. Moreso talking about that trees idiot.

Sad to hear about AP's son. I work in a place where child abuse is "common". In fact, MOST of my patients have been abused in one way or another. Sad, and the reason why I am HUGELY in favor of 100x more harsh punishments than we have.

Some people would consider life in prison without parole and the death penalty to be pretty harsh, but if you're referring to a 'cut off his man parts and feed him to the wolves' sort of punishment then that's another topic entirely.

your a moron trees, just stop right there. You have no evidence to back up what you said, a 2 year old using a vehicle as a deadly weapon, what did he use his power wheel or big wheel... shut up you piece of ####.
