BREAKING: AP Source: Law enforcement official sent copy of Ray Rice tape to NFL executive in April

More from Schefter:

"A law enforcement official told the AP he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancee to an NFL executive three months ago."
"The person played The AP a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming video arrived."
"NFL: "We have no knowledge of this. We are not aware of anyone in our office who possessed or saw the video..."
Yikes.

IF this turns out to be substantiated, I can't see Goodell surviving this. As he said in 2012 to the Saints, "ignorance is not an excuse."

Math seems a Little fuzzy here. He sent video 3 months ago (JUNE) but has a voice mail from early APRIL?

 Maybe 3 months ago, the source told the AP that the NFL had the tape.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancée to an NFL executive five months ago, while league executives have insisted they didn't see the violent images until this week.

The official played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."
So its either a female executive - seems unlikely, or a administrative assistant, who may, or may not have passed on the video.

:violin:

This is the world's smallest violin playing for the woman beater.

The couple had been arguing before just before 1 p.m. when Tibbott locked herself in a bedroom, the police said.

While Tibbott was trying to call 911, Harrison broke down the door, took her cell phone and broke it in half, according to police. Tibbott said Harrison then hit her across the face with an open hand and knocked off her glasses.

Police said Tibbott had "red marks" on her left cheek. She had called them after the alleged assault, saying she was afraid of Harrison.
