FS M. Brown Set To Return From Injury

Larry Mayer, ChicagoBears.com -

Chicago Bears FS Mike Brown is expected to participate in practice seven months after sustaining a season-ending foot injury. Brown likely will line up at free safety with veteran Adam Archuleta, who was acquired in a trade with the Washington Redskins, working with the first team at strong safety

I really think Lovie with get Archuleta's career back on track. He used him well in STL and I certainly hope he will again.

I agree.

Lovie had him before and knows his strengths and weaknesses and wanted him. That says a lot to me.

I think Adam will be a productive fantasy safety once again.

Also, per KFFL:

Bears | M. Brown takes part in all practice sessions FridaySat, 19 May 2007 09:18:20 -0700John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears S Mike Brown (foot) took part in all practice sessions Friday, May 18.
That is very encouraging news for Brown owners as well.

Maybe I can trade him back to the guy that dropped him last year. Nahh, if Lovee gets him back on track...He was 3rd in fantasy in 2002.In 03 he was #26 but missed 3 games but still had 5 sacks.

“He’s (Archuleta) a better player than I remember from a few years back,” Lovie Smith said. “Normally with experience it happens that way. But he’s a better player now, which should only help us.”
Archuletta is the ultimate sell-high candidate!RAPTURE
Sell high? You think his hype is so high after last year that you can get much of value for him right now? What can you get for him that's higher than the FBG consensus upside of high 20s?

Sell high?

By using these rankings -http://subscribers.footballguys.com/apps/v...amp;howrecent=7

...which states Archuletta ranked #21 for DB's, you can use it in your trade tactics to seal the deal. Personally, I do not see Acrhuletta coming even close to a top 40 finish.

In the end, that is the beauty of trading .....teams do not have enough faith in their ability, so they need to go off of "expert" rankings to justify their decision.

But do those rankings use him as a starter? If not where would he rank?

#21 has to be assuming he's a starter.

I figured he was stuck on Washington for awhile, so I lost him in free agency in a league this offseason... in a league where I need DB help. Dang.

PFW whispers:

Surprisingly, Bears S Mike Brown was in no way limited by his surgically repaired foot during May’s minicamp and appeared close to 100 percent recovered. He certainly ran well enough to suggest he’s capable of playing free safety with SS Adam Archuleta stuffing the box.

He is ranked lower now but in 2002 and 2003 he was 3rd and 26. Lovie should get a lot out of him as a run stuffer.
