I'm not a subscriber, but I assume these are updates that have been promised for a certain date (Today) and yet most of them still aren't there yet. From 2-3 years following the forums here, that seems to be the norm.

Well, technically they have until 3:00AM EST for the content to be uploaded, but I was hoping for it a little sooner than that.

I know someone will think I'm trying to blast the site, but I'm not. It's just that over the last 1-2 years it seems as if at least 25% of the material that is promised by a certain date is never posted and sometimes takes as long as a week before they ever get it done and that the staff seems to think there is nothing wrong with being late with material.

It is a frequent pattern to see the features posted late. Often, it seems that items will get moved from one day to the next. I am not complaining too much because the info is good and I want the guys to get it right, BUT it was much easier to tolerate and understand when cheatsheets.com (footballguys.com) used to be a free site. Now that I am paying $24.95 and, I assume, at least a few of the guys are actually doing fantasy football analysis as their primary job it would be nice for them to hit their deadlines with more regularity. Many of us like to absorb their information before we made roster moves or trades each week. If the primary reports (this year the updates to the Lineup Dominator) do not come out until Friday it does create some time problems. The insight is great, but it would be even better if it were on time.Just my 2 cents.DR

They are late with some stuff, but everytime they are, they post and apologzie. They always post a reply to a thread like this and apologzie. You are bashing them. the material will be out, relax a little.

When did I bash? I'm curious to know if they work on EST or PST or somewhere in between.I mostly join for the Draft Dominator, so I'll continue to pay the $25/year for the best FF tool available. It's just that I'd like the extras to be uploaded in a timely manner.

Making an accurate statement is not bashing someone. It's critism and it is desreved.25% may not be right, but for all I know it could be more or less. Like I said, I'm not a subscriber, so I'm only going by the number of times I see subscribers post that material is late. Going back to last year, it's seems to happen frequently.

If it only happened a few times and they apoligized, that may be acceptable, but 25% of the time is a bit much. At that point I think I'd want my money back. The material may be good, but I'd be too annoyed by the fact that are late with so many things.

If I wanted to bash the site, I would be taking unnessaccery jabs at it and that is not the case here.

Completely agree. My job would fire me if I missed deadlines this often.

But if you apologized wouldn't that make everything better? :hophead:

In general, staff members submit things to Dodds and Clayton...and they have to do some fomatting changes before posting it up on the site, in addition to working on their own material. Last year, we had some problems where things would get submitted, but it would take awhile for them to get posted. We've made a lot of changes to speed up the process and I know from experience that they are going much, much quicker this year.If things are a little slow/late today, I'm pretty sure it will be the exception rather than the norm going forward.

I enjoy Stategist and Ones to Watch

Personally, I am looking for the Lineup/Trade Dominator. I play in primarily IDP leagues and am always looking for the hidden gems that may be lurking in FA. I wish they would come out with the first release for that on Wed with an update on Sat so I could start scouring around and making trades.

Dodds is on the west coast and is the person that posts to the site. The items will be posted very soon.

With all due respect, I don't think anyone particularly cares about the process - they just want the deadlines met consistently. Apologies and explanations are nice, but no one is paying for regrets and stories. I've been following these forums for a few years now, and I have seriously considered subscribing. But when I read so many complaints about missed deadlines from your customers, it gives me second thoughts, and to this point, I've never been confident enough to pay for the service. Now I know some people are thinking "it's only $25," or "it's only a day late," but that's not the point. When you pay for something, you expect to get it as promised, when promised. When I come across such a high volume of customer complaints, it discourages me from subscribing.

These are just my thoughts on the matter. I don't mean any disrespect to the staff; I am just trying to provide some constructive criticism that will hopefully be considered and ultimately make the best fantasy football site on the Internet even better.

I'm not going to argue with you, but that is simply incorrect.

He prefaced just about everything he said with "seems as if" or "seems to think." He is just expressing his own perception. When you post 10 articles on time and 1 article late, it's usually the 1 late article that people remember.

:goodposting: Well said. I've heard similiar responses to the one Rudnicki posted too many times to count. There's always an "excuse/reason" as to why it's late and why it will get better. As a customer (if I subscribed) I could care less about the process and such and where people live and what not. I'd simply want what is promised and I would expect that when something is said to be released on a certain day it would be done in the morning - not the afternoon and certaintly not an hour before midnight.

I don't think I've ever seen one staff member ever simply reply by saying "You guys are right. There is no excuse for us to be late with material we promise to deliver by a certain date."

That's what the simple truth to the matter is.

it certainly seems as though the 2 main people complaining in this thread aren't even subscribers themselves and are basing their opinions on things that happened last year.is that correct?

The lineup and trade dominator is the most imporant thing for me--although I read the other reports and enjoy them. One more point about the timliness of the articles. Most fantasy football leauges have various deadlines that the coaches are held to. For example, in our league free agent pickups are due by 8:00pm EST, trades must be submitted by Friday at 8:00pm EST. My commissioner would not let me submit late pick up requests or trades if I told him that I am waiting on footballguys to finish thier articles. Good information (which footballguys DOES provide) is not very helpful if it is too late to use.

That is not correct. I have been a subscriber since footballguys first started charging for their services.

Well I'm annoyed too, but I'm not going to wage jihad. I'm glad the Game Predictor made it up before my work suicide league deadline passed. This was delayed a day, but it worked out.

For the record, I don't NEED it, but it's a useful tool for backing up intuitions.

understood.for the record, I have little control or power or insight into this stuff so I'm just trying to be helpful. that is also why I sent Clayton an email and asked him to reply.

we ALL realize and admit that there was a problem last year with things being posted late. I'm unaware of there being similar problems this year...but, I could be mistaken.

Cheap -astards can't pay $ 24.95 ( 19.95 for early sign up) for more than 25 weeks worth of valuable fantasy football information. I vote for the message boards to be available to subscribers only. Let the cheaps leaches gather their information from ESPN & NFL .com.A lot of nerve to complain about what you receive for free.As far as a marketing tool to promote your product, I suggest that FBG's open the message boards to all during pre-season only. Once the regular season starts, the freebies for the cheapies are over. Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made that known from the start. Saying I'm complaining is incorrect. I'm not paying for anything, so I have nothing to complain about. If the subscribers don't mind that is one thing, but it certaintly isn't helping you get new customers.Wether I subscribe or not is not the issue - It's wether or not the promised material is released by the deadline that FBGs says it will be delivered. From an outsider's perspective, it seems as if the staff simply believes subscribers should accept material being released late from time to time as part of the package when they become a subscriber.

I have to agree with some of what has been said. I am not complaining becuase you guys have a lot of great material and great reading. I would be nice however if some of the items got posted a little bit earlier. As an example, one league that I am in has a waiver deadline for the week of Wednesday. I do not rely on predictions and Lineup dominator 100%, but it does give me some good insights and reassurances of my gut feeling and also helps me find some of the deep gems that I forget about. It doesn't do me much good that it comes out very late Thurs night however. I am usually in bed Thurs by the time it comes out.Sorry if I sound like I am whining, you guys do great work and put out great info and I am sure you get to hear the complaining more than the praise, but I guess that is what happens when you charge for something. :P

Gee I wonder how many possible subscibers they wouldn't get as a result of doing that.

Guys,We have two options. We can show you what's going to make it to the web or ONLY show something when it is LIVE.We have opted for the other strategy because it serves as a placeholder to show the day is done.We have input coming from a huge number of staff that also have everyday jobs. If you want us to ensure we meet every deadline then I will post everything as promised on Friday morning.Quality stuff takes time. I work 18 hour days on Wednesday and Thursday. If you want bad info faster, I suggets you subscribe to a different service.I spend over 3 hours to update the Top 200 because I reaserach everything affecting movement.I spend over 4 hours to do the game predictor feature since that is the backbone of how teams will play the game (in my opinion).I spend 7 hours to do the projections.Every article takes 20-30 minutes to format at a minimum.I am not whining, but letting everyone know that this is the BEST schedule we can keep. Yes I live on the West Coast, but don't really sleep much except on the weekends.

Exactly. Keeping the forums free is one of the best things FBGs can do to increase subscriptions.I'm not going to get into it more than this, but somebody choosing not to pay $24.95 for "fantasy" information does not make them cheap. It doesn't matter if it costs $1, the problem would still be that they don't reach the deadlines that they tell you they will. Money isn't the issue.

Oh Pleeaassee, you get to do something for a living that we would love to do, football related work and you are complaining about it? :D (hopefully he finds some humor in this late night jab and I don't get banned) :bag:

Hey, stuff happens. Yeah we (well some of us) pay for the site. Yeah they say things will be out on a certain day. I guess I don't think it is that much of a big deal if something is late now and then. But then again, I don't use all that much of the content. I figure they got 20-30 or so guys (girls) working on this stuff and someone's gonna miss a deadline now and then. I'm sure Joe and David jump on them when they do, but overall, I think they do a heck of a job getting good material out in ample time. And that 25% number is a crock. Before you go throwing numbers like that out, you really should do some research.

Obviously, keeping the message boards free has not made you decide to be a subscriber. By the way, as a matter of policy, FBG's has always offered a full refund to unsatisfied customers. With the immense amount of information that is put out, delays are inevitable. Granted, last year had a few hicups, However, in no way did they make me even think twice about not subscribing.

Well theoretically any of us could do it, it wasn't given to him. He worked for it, created a startup company. Its important to recognize the amount of work that goes into this website, I think. I guess some complaining is warranted at times, but don't be asses about it. Try to realize the amout of work these guys have.

I'm sure glad I can somehow survive a Thursday night without watching the clock and waiting for David's info.Call it crazy, but my lineups aren't due for a couple of days.
