Are yahoo's projected stats worth anything at all? (1 Viewer)

For instance, Aaron brooks is projected as having a better season than tom brady and jon kitna, which while not unlikely doesn't seem quite right to me either. this is my first year playing fantasy football... is it worth paying attn to these projections at all when the season hasn't even started?

They're easily worth the paper they're printed onThat said, the rankings in draft rooms these days are pretty similar to ADPs, whereas in the past they could be way off. This may be circular tho (do rankings follow the ADPs or are players picked in a certain spot because the ranking said they should?)

Having played in one Yahoo league for the past six years, I would say they have improved somewhat, but generally speaking, they aren't experts. They just come up with some info, probably based on some geek in the office who likes the NFL. Individual game stats require a lot of knowledge to be anything close to realistic, but even there, the individual variation is quie large.

As was said above, they are worth the paper they are printed on, but not much more than that.

according to the projected points this week yahoo has me losing 78-88.

Draft dominator has me winning 114-111. thats quite a swing.

i rather enjoy that fact that their projections suck. especially when drafting. that way the players i want to more below the radar.
