Are you a Costco member? What do you buy for your household? (2 Viewers)

Our Costco just added gas pumps. Price wasn't that much cheaper; only about .12 cheaper than the regular gas stations yet it was packed. Not worth sitting in a long line to save a buck or two
Got gas yesterday at Costco for 2.29 and it was 2.49 everywhere else.  Plus the 4% rebate when you use the Costco Visa knocks it around 9 more cents.  I drive by a Costco everyday so it makes sense for me to always get gas there.

Another thing and why is this?  It is only my wife and I in the house now.  So when I go to Kroger and my bill is 100.00 I think, I just spent quite a bit.  When I go to Costco and my bill is 100.00 I think I hardly spent anything.

It’s because at Kroger you probably got half a small cart and at Costco you’ve got a full big cart.

This is why we can't have nice things.    Tonight I come to find out that thanks to all the a-holes out there that like to return their christmas trees, costco is not doing christmas trees this year.  Now I have to go get a crappier tree at a higher price at home depot.
They should keep Christmas trees. And whenever anyone returns one, revoke their membership immediately. They don't need those kinds of customers... They're toxic.

they return the christmas trees before or after christmas?

i had to return my bag of pistachios because there were 13 that wernt open. FULL REFUND

Because Costco is the two hundred dollar store. You need a loaf of bread? You end up spending $200. You need some contact lens solution and paper towels? You end up spending $200 anyway.

Anytime you walk out without spending $200 it just doesn't feel right.

I just walked out at $80 spend and $70 of that was for 1 brisket.  Felt very right.  (though I did do a second glance at a 75 inch TV for $900)

Getting a Costco in the hood come March 1st.  My Sam's Club card expired yesterday and I'm going to wait until I check out the new hot chick before I up/re-up with either (and in the end I'll end up with both memberships).  My perception is that Costco has more interesting wares, but Sam's has all the right stuff I want to buy in bulk.  We'll see.  Sam's has really stepped their game up this past year. Their produce, while somewhat limited in selection, is great quality and cheap as ####.

Good call on opting for Costco. You would think both establishments are Same-ey, but the difference is massive. We have a Sams 5 minutes from our house. We instead drive 20 minutes to Costco.

What everybody getting back in February on their Costco VISA?  Was informed I am getting $705.00.

My 60inch TV is only 4 years old and nothing at all is wrong with it, but they line up those new TVs by the front door so every time I go in I stop and think about an upgrade.   Plus the prices keep dropping.

I think we are getting back like $650. Best thing we ever did.

That's great...except he never said he was opting for Costco.  :hey:

$1840, a little lower than last year. My wife and I travel for work and out all of it on the Costco card since it’s 3% on travel. I think either one of us has traveled almost every week since October. Just a couple breaks.

Yeah. I'm an impulse buyer and I have eight tvs now. I wish they'd move them to the feminine hygiene section.

Got the big container of kimchi.  A little strong to be eating on its own, but I made this recipe right now and its dynamite if you like korean style food.
I've never finished more than a third of a jar of that stuff and it takes  about 18 months to go bad.

And as much as I like fermented foods, the Korean rate for stomach cancer is higher than any other country, Just sayin;

I thought it was touted as a health food?

Got a 6 pound rack of pork for 9 bucks the other day. Well, bought a few of them. Amazing deals.
$1.50/lb. is standard price (here) for spares. Babyback or St Louis style under $3 is what I look for and I see them several times a year for 1.99 at local grocery chains. They freeze pretty well for 6-8 months

Since I have been on my low-carb diet kick I have found a ton of things at Costco that are low-carb/keto friendly.

Zero net carb white bread was a big find the other day. They sell it in two loaf packs for $6. At Safeway, a single loaf is $6.
I think they use fishy carb counts.

If the actual ingredient have fiber, the fiber (which is a carb) is deducted from the total count.

To game the numbers a lot of food mfrs dump in a lot of fiber on top of the other ingredients and then subtract them from the total. That's not how it works. You are still getting (in this case) 12 carbs, just with a bunch of fiber on top.

You also get 4% cashback with your Costco card.

Our gas is usually cheaper. Unfortunately it's out of the way to use regularly.

But my favorite thing is watching all the people line up based where their fuel door is located, when there are signs that say to use any lane.

Our Costco has the longer retractable hoses.

So there are 5 cars deep for the driver side fuel door and no one for the other lanes.

Zippy in and out
shhh. Not everyone needs to know this or we'll lose our advantage

My Dad died with several hundred in cashback, but they would not give it to my mom. I think that was pretty chicken####, but that's rare for them.

I would dispute that.  Hard to believe they would want bad pub over a couple hundred.   It might be the banks decision on that though.

I took a TV back in the old days when you after 4 years. The original one was 2100.00,  I bought a better one for1600.00 and they gave me a gift card for the 500.00 difference.  I would have gladly just done an even exchange. When I was walking it out to my vehicle my wife is like...are you kidding me?

Yeah, I am having to deal with the credit card company, not Costco.

Also- take note, the tire store and cell phone kiosks are NOT Costco owned and do not typically honor Costco return/refund policies.

My wife is baking something tomorrow for our daughters b-day sleepover and we just needed to run out and get some things quick. Had to get some other stuff, so we ent to a Target. For some strange reason, they didn't have brown sugar and powdered sugar. There is a Costco next door, and she said i should just run over there and check, before we went to a grocery store. Surprisingly, they had both. I may never need to buy either again. 7 lbs of each! Only ~$4 for each, so that isn't too expensive. Costco!
