Wayne over Sims-Walker

Clark over Zach Miller.

As you can see, I just don't have any better options, so I have to take it on faith that they're going to play all the way through, or at least most of the game.

I'm not worried this week. I will be in weeks 16 & 17. In fact, I'm worried about those weeks now, but I'll just have to wait and see how it shakes out. Meaning, if the Colts still have a chance to go undefeated, I think I'll have to play my studs unless I hear otherwise from the Colts staff that they will not be playing.

I have Manning on 2 playoff teams but my backups are Cassell & Henne. Going with Manning. Have Clark on 1 with Z. Miller (OAK) as b/u.

I might have benched Clark for Z. Miller but he may not play and has a new QB.

Hoping Manning throws 2 td's ( 1 to Clark) and 200 yards before sitting.

peyton manning is capable of throwing the ball 30 times in the first half and putting up better numbers than any QB out there ... other than brees maybe ... even if he only plays the first half.

Thought I'd bump this thread with the game looming tonight.

So the Colts have said that their starters will play a full game if they're healthy. I don't have a link--it was discussed on an ESPN News report.

It seems to me that the bolded part still leaves a lot of latitude. For instance, I've heard reports that Reggie Wayne is playing through some minor injuries. I'm assuming at the very least it means that any guy that leaves the game with an injury will probably be held out for precautionary reasons, so Colts are a little higher risk than they would be in games where they're still playing for something (besides being undefeated).

Anyway, and additional info is appreciated because I own virtually all of the important Colts across various leagues. My gut says most of them play a full game tonight, but I'd love some additional information.

Well, it depends on who you have to replace them with. I'm benching Wayne for Gore for my flex position.

Surprised there aren't a few more benching Addai.

I have no Colts, but I'd be a bit nervous about him. I'd think he'd be first one on O to start losing PT.

I am thinking of benching addai for Beanie Wells. But I keep hearing that 'dance with the ones that brought you to the dance' saying in my head. :lmao:

Didn't Peyton throw 4 picks last week....not sure why that would sound like a guy that could benefit from not playing too much for a month.

Unless they are up by 28 at the end of the half I don't see him in particular sitting.

:goodposting: My thoughts as well.

what about weather affecting performance versus approach. from weather.com supposed to be very rainy and windy tonight (formatting got all F'd up when I tried to copy and paste hourly forecast). Full disclosure going against Manning this week so hoping it's run heavy attack.

My matchup (2nd round in playoffs) has Manning and R. wayne so I can only hope that these guys get off the field early!

It's sunny and cool in Jax right now. There's a rain system moving in from around New Orleans but can't see it dropping heavy rain until later tonight. NFL Net games don't run as long as the Sunday and Monday games do. Less commercial breaks.

Start 3 WR/TE

Andre Johnson is a definite. Most likely will go with Donald Driver and Dallas Clark instead of Terrell Owens.

Thank you DH. I appreciate the confirmation of my thoughts. I should also add that I do have a bye this week and will be playing for money in week 16. Even still, my statement holds true. If I did have to play the game I would start Manning and Wayne this week, without a second thought.I am looking forward to tonight's game. I seriously want the Colts to win. A loss for the Colts and I am pretty much skrewed. I can't see Caldwell playing his top guys for more than a quarter in week 16 when there is no undefeated record to shoot for. This would nearly kill my team and it's chances for a fantasy title. Mind you, I have prepared and have options.....it's just that they are not the best options to have. I consider Caldwell a true Dungy pupil and he will do what Dungy most likely would have done.....and that is to sit his starters so as to remain healthy for the playoffs. It is interesting to note that the only time the Indy Colts won a Super Bowl under Dungy was the year that the starters had to play all the way through the regular season, thus staying fresh. All the other times their record was so good as to allow starters to sit in the final weeks, they failed to put it all together to win a title. I truly believe that sitting starters in the final week = stale players.

I'd say there isn't a clear-cut answer across the board.

Best starts - Manning, clark

Good Start - Garcon, Wayne.

Worst Starts - Addai

This is based on my perceived understanding of their health and toughness based on what I read here, colts.com, and rotoworld.

Playing Manning over Alex Smith

Playing Clark over Greg Olson

Playing Session over Dumervil (if Session plays that is)

Benching Wayne for Austin/DJax/VJax w Ryan Grant as flex (Dynasty league)

How about the Colts D?

Haven't seen this mentioned.

My options are Indy D or TN D (vs Miami).

I fear that on a slower track, maybe in weather, the likes of Freeney and Mathis take a seat at somepoint. They are in fact banged up.

Wayne will play until Manning doesnt play. I think Wayne plays most of it.

Addai is different. I can see 10-12 carries and then resting him.

Man, the shark move might be to start Mike Hart. He already got 40% of the carries last week. Addai has a dinged knee, so probably he is the prime candidate to sit early. If they run more due to weatherHart could get a lot of work, and with Peyton behind center not Painter.

Found these numbers interesting for Peyton Manning since the bye week:

Wk Opp Yds TD Int

7 at Rams 235 3 1

8 vs 49ers 347 0 0

9 vs Texans 318 1 1

10 vs Patriots 327 4 0

11 at Ravens 299 1 1

12 at Texans 244 3 1

13 vs Titans 270 1 2

14 vs Broncos 220 4 3

15 at Jaguars ????

FWIW, he hasn't had back to back weeks with multiple TD's since the bye....

I'm certain that is a 100% reliable statistic that should factor into your decision making process

I have Clark and am having second thoughts after hearing something about Polian on satellite radio saying something to the effect that anyone with an "injury" won't play, the regular starters going a few series, and those who need work will be playing longer. Who the hell knows what that will really mean?

Someone pointed out that he's 98 yards shy of 1k on the season. I'm starting him unless he's listed as inactive.

Dallas Clark:

Next Game (@JAC) Receiving Rushing Fumbles

G Rec Yds Y/G Avg Lng YAC 1stD TD Rush Yds Y/G Avg TD Fum FumL

Last Game vs JAC 1 4 39 39.0 9.8 21 - - 0 0 0 0.0 N/A 0 0 0

Career vs JAC 12 40 460 38.3 11.5 37 4.3 21 6 0 0 0.0 N/A 0 1 1

Point Being...he's averaging 38.3 Yards P/G & .5 TD's in his 12 game Career vs Jax

I think the only way you bench any of these guys is if you have another good option

if you r benching them for a reach. dont do it

I am benching addai, but only cause I got Beanie Wells Vs DET.

I'd swap Clark and Garcon, personally.

Prediction:

If 9 pt lead or greater:

Manning, Wayne & Clark will leave late in 3rd

Addai split 60/40 with Hart throughout the game, leaving for good in late 3rd.

All very startable unless you have some nice options...

Ooops, guess not ;)

They had me nervous for a quarter, but all was well in the end except for Addai.

Very concerned about next week though.
