FWIW, it is pretty calm here now in Cleveburg. I know that they are calling for nasty weather later today, but it is drying out from yesterday's rain right now.

Doesn't help that it's the night game either, can't really check in pre-game and make a late switch. I'm yanking Santonio unless by 4 pm I realize I need a high risk high reward play.

Thinking right now that I will sit Big Ben in favor of Warner. Not thrilled this week about it, wanted BB against that Cleveland D. I will finalize sometime around 3:30 though after looking at weather patterns. Will be starting Winslow though and may have no choice to start Edwards as I lost Colston this week.

Not sitting Winslow (even in wind I like him better than a WW TE), not sitting Ward out of necessity (2 of my other WRs on that team are Andre J and Derrick Mason who are both PPD, so Ward starts opposite Coles), but I did drop Dawson and pick up Carney from the NYG since he'll be kicking in a dome.

I doubt they try long FGs in 30+ mph winds.

Giving strong consideration to sitting Roethlisberger.
Same here, for Kitna. Holmes for Megaton. As a Detroit homer, Im very worried.
For what it's worth, Charles Woodson is hurt and is questionable to play. I think Kitna could have a decent day throwing against the Packers. I don't see Smith doing much on the ground.
I combined my leagues. :lmao: Holmes for Bowe, not Megatron. Kitna = 17 of 37 187yds 1 TD 3 picks. And I m really hoping for that TD.

I won't reveal the projection but based on FBG's final projections of the week, they are strongly advocating starting Roethlisberger.

All rb's should have a good day.
I think Parker has a great day; I'd start Lewis but I don't think he'll be great against the Steelers.I was surprised by the projection for Roethlisberger. Either FBG thinks he'll overcome the weather issues or they aren't taking them into consideration at all.

I just looked at this myself but honestly, John Clayton just said that Big Ben is more hurt than the Steelers want to let on. Combine that with the projected wind and rain and you have to ask yourself is it worth the gamble to play him when you have a decent second option? I can't believe these projections are holding steady given the info we are getting right now.I slso don't have the luxury of putting someone in at 4:00pm. My lineup has to be set at 1.

Seriously contemplating sitting Santonio & taking my chances w/ Vincent Jackson in what MIGHT be a shootout in Denver...

--possibly horrid weather in Clev as noted

--Ben w/ a bum shoulder

--Pitt will run, run, run b/c of the aforementioned, plus, they are a run-first team anyway

--Hines Ward still appears to be Ben's favored target

I was high on Santonio coming into the season, and I still think he'll have a nice year, but I think too many things are going against him this particular week. Brighter days ahead for him.

I think if you have to make a decision before the early games, you have to sit Roethlisberger or Anderson if you have a decent QB2. I don't think it's worth the risk to hope the weather magically improves when all indications are it's going to be ugly tonight.

Those in start-2 QB leagues face a MUCH more difficult decision, however. Chances are you don't have another QB as good as Roethlisberger or Anderson or there isn't one as good on the WW.

Without looking back at game logs from last year, I think I remember Ben having a HUGE day in a horrible rain storm last year. I think he threw for 5 TDs. He played college ball in Ohio, and now plays in Pitt. This guy can play in bad weather. The Miami game didnt count IMO - the field conditions were the issue in that game moresoe than the rain. He stays in my lineup this week.

this thread is a life saver!!! i looked at the weather in cleveland tonight (heavy rain and 30+ MPH winds!!!).. and made the call to bench S Holmes for Chris Johnson in a TD only league at the flex spot.

wonder if we'll get another game like MIA@PIT last year?

Well, I had already pulled Holmes for Cotchery but that's practically a wash anyway (no pun inteneded). I just put Warner in for Ben. I know I'll be sick if Ben has a big night but how can you play him with weather and injury concerns when you have a capable backup?

Just benched Braylon for Bowe. Don't like doing it and don't feel good about it.

Not sure about benching Santonio for Desaun Jackson or Antonio Gates yet.

Have to stick with JLewis and Winslow.
