Are you trading Vick (1 Viewer)

' date='Oct 22 2006, 07:37 PM' post='5771745']I have Vick, Manning and Brees and will probably package one of them to upgrade at RB.
Yeah at this point you have no use for Vick. For me I am keeping him because he is right close to where I projected him to be and helped me get back in the hunt.

I'll tell you what is curious....and listen up Vick haters....

The fact that ONCE AGAIN his wrs missed 2 passes in their hands that bounced up and were intercepted.

Watch the games! Vick made every throw a QB is asked to make today!

Every QB has this happen to them. Did you see Harrison fail to catch that TD pass? All he had to do was get his left down but he didn't. He usually makes that play but Manning missed on that one. It happens to all QB's.It's good to see Vick have a great game, his best ever without a doubt. It's really nice to see him do it against Pitts. (That's a Bengal fan talking). :D Seriously, let's not carried away with it because it was 1 game. When Vick can put it together for more than 1 game, say a few of them whereby he actually makes some down the field passing plays, then ATL will be a serious contender. Also, he's going to need more than Crumpler if he's going to continue with throwing with consistency. Let's see a few more games before we get too carried away.

Nope. But only bc I traded him earlier this week once I acquired Leinart and he became expendable.

:lmao:

If I still had him on my roster, I would not be looking to move him. For some reason I find him to be undervalued in FF circles. Certainly this is going to be his Game of the Year but I think he will continue to post #s that put him in the top 5-6 QBs.

Family Matters, have you even watched one Atlanta game this year? Between this and your Michael Vick stats thread it sure does seem that all you've done is look at his stats to evaluate him. Just curious.

I've seen some the games but I am basing my comments on his career results and observations. For one, the stats do not lie. They are unbiased speak volumes about what happened. Further, ther have been very games when Vick made you think he's going to be a passer. When I say that I mean on a consistent basis. Again, I am referring to "passing", not running.Lastly, I am courious as to why when Vick fans get defensive, they hold him to a different standard then other QB's? It seems that some defend his lack of passing skills because of his exceptional running ability. I understand the overall analysis but to suggest he's an effective passer is like saying Manning can really run when he wants to. (That's not a good image either). But if suddenly starts playing like this then all bets are off. But his career suggests we can expect more of what he had seen before this week.

I actually picked up Pennington b/c Bulger was on a bye and I didn't trust Vick :bag:

I am keeping VIck as my #2 unless the Rothlisberger or Hasselbeck owners come calling.

OK just so I get a better picture here, when was the last time you watched a Falcons game (the entire game)? You are right, stats don't lie and they are unbiased, but when a person uses stats and stats alone to make a judgement on a player, that is a biased opinion. Most Vick fans agree that the WCO does not suit his style of play. And your stats seem to support that.

he's gone from overvalued two years ago to undervalued now.

there's so much vick hate that you're almost bound to not get at least fair value in return.

one of those inevitable holds.

Are there actually people out there that would pay a signifcantly higher price for a player because he goes off for one game.

Trade him?? Are you serious? Vick is one of the best QB's I have ever seen. Look at how teams have to gameplan for him, and he has so many all purpose yards.....

He's disliked a lot at the draft and is undervalued.

He's a solid QB1 in leagues which don't have 6 pt passing TD's.

He's been in an offense which does not play to his strengths as passer, and there was dirty laundry aired. Now he goes off, and they seem to tweak the passing game plan.

As a bonus, he's half of the only elite QB-TE hookup that comes cheap and has neither the TE nor QB highly sought after. Most teams don't have a TE lead the way, and McNabb, Gates, & Gonzo are high cost players. That leaves Johnson-Wiggins & Vick-Crumpler if you liek the strategy, and Johnson-Wiggins isn't quite good enough.

He's a hold, unless you get a crazy offer for him. Which you might.

He could be money for the rest of the season. The line was soild today, which was interesting considering 2 of the starters were out. We'll have to wait and see how good his protection is in the coming weeks.

I have Vick, Carson, Leinart, Plummer in dynasty league. I'd love to tade Vick right now if I could get fair value for him. I might offer Vick for Housh and see what happens.

:goodposting: I was going to come in here and post the exact same thing. In the league in which I own Vick, I don't think I could get any more for him now than I could have last week.

The fans don't get defensive....or maybe we do...but not for the reason you think. The fans, if like me, have watched every ATL game that Vick has been involved in. And through time, we watched as he has developed as a passer. I would have agreed with your assessment 5 years ago. But as the years have gone by, Vick has more and more made the throws WHEN CALLED UPON TO DO SO.The ATL game plan is NOT to drop back 60-70 times a game. They want to run first.Anyway, starting just last year, it was becoming apparent that the issue was definitely no longer Vick but the WRs. We've complained about the WRs for years, but it's kind of hard to put your finger on it when the most experienced WR is Finnerran. This year it has been PAINFULLY obvious with Finnerran out. Besides Crumpler, ATL does not have a WR that consistently holds onto the ball. Not only that, but if you really pay attention, you'll see that they don't even fight for the ball. Vick is Vick.....he's a better passer when on the move....he's damn fast and will always run.....but he can throw from the pocket....but he CAN'T drop back 60 times a game and be successful. We know that. We love that. He makes the game electric! If Mora would just go get us Moss! With his hands.....NASTY!
