Hey just tweeted this

AdrianPeterson Adrian Peterson

All my concerned fans out there! No, I'm not sitting out the rest of the season. As soon as I'm ready to roll I'll be back.

With that name, possibly the best fantasy running back ever, provided you get points for both #23 in Houston and #28 in Minnesota.

(sorry -- based on the thread title, I couldn't help myself)

:goodposting: :) I believe Arian Peterson was likely created in a laboratory.-QG

Appearing on Total Access, NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora suggested that among the major fantasy stars injured this week, Adrian Peterson is the one with "a decent chance to play."

It's not clear if LaCanfora is reporting or just reading the tea leaves. He concedes that Peterson will have to make it through practice, proving that his ankle can handle the rigors. Coach Leslie Frazier said on Monday that Peterson is "very close" to returning from his high-ankle sprain.

 Name is spelled with an "i" dude. Anyway, a player with the combined ability of Arian Foster and Adrian Peterson is better than anyone found in nature. Like RoboPunter.-QG
Who would you rather have, Arian Peterson at RB or Randy Rice at WR? What about in PPR? What if it was Terrel Rice in PPR? At QB, Peyton Brady or Brett Rodgers?I'll hang up and listen. Will answer yours. glllllll.Sorry, this should probably be in AC forum.

Supposedly, AP is 70% and wants to play. I don't know about you but I say he doesn't play this week.
It's almost lunch time, so I'll play along.According to the title of this topic... he's at 85%. :tumbleweed:
I heard AP on the local radio yesterday he mentioned he's at about 70% but really wants to play. I would think they will sit him one more week since we're 2-10 but who knows. Frazier needs a few wins under his belt -

I'll try playing again...According to the title of this topic... he's at 85%. Arian 100% + Peterson 70% Divided by the 2 = 85%

I have to set my lineup tonight and have to decide between Gerhart or ADP. Please post any updates before game time. Thanks.

I KNOW THE LINEUP PRIOR TO THURS GAME RULE WE HAVE STINKS AND IS ANTIQUATED.

There won't be any substantial updates between now and Thursday nights game. If you have nobody else and must pick between I would (personally) put in AP.

Thanks MS. I have CJ/Ringer and ADP/Gerhart as my RBs so I'll have to pull the trigger on one of them. I'm going with ADP. I'm hoping for ADP to tweet something though to make me feel better :fingerscrossed:

on twitter:

Leslie Frazier said Adrian Peterson was limited today in practice but that what Peterson was able to do was "encouraging." No decision yet.

Crap I wished there were more to go on. I guess this will be the last week I can plug in Gerhart if I can even use him this week.

Adrian Peterson - RB - Vikings

Adrian Peterson (ankle) was limited in his return to practice Thursday.

Although no decision has been made on Peterson's status for the Lions game, coach Leslie Frazier was "encouraged" by Thursday's practice work. Peterson had no pain while cutting, but trainers want to see how the ankle responds Friday morning. Things are looking up for Peterson, who is No. 7 in Rotoworld's running back ranks for Week 14.

man.... I already make my FantasyPros picks....oh well, take starting ADP over it any day (cross fingers)

and for the love of gawd, somebody fix the thread title!

i need to hear that he practiced tomorrow as well. My worry is that i start him and he tweaks something or is limited.

This really needs to be shared with the world. A Toys for Tots drive at the Mall of America brought Vikings legend Chuck Foreman and Adrian Peterson together for a chat hosted by the local sports radio station. I don't think that I've ever heard AD talk so candidly. AD comes on a bit after 16:30. http://www.kfan.com/cc-common/podcast/single_page.html?more_page=1&podcast=KFAN_Barreiro&selected_podcast=BAR_12-06-11_HR3_1323220802_6466.mp3Chuck:"but let me ask you this question though, we're 2-10"

AD:"Yeah"

Chuck:"and I know you want to play, and you say you're 70%?"

AD: "'bout 70"

Chuck"Don't you think you should wait 'til you're 100%?"

The rest of the interview with Foreman is football gold. Well worth listening to everything.

From ESPN fantasy site:

Peterson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Detroit. Peterson says he's about 80 percent healthy, ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities reports.Spin:Peterson will likely be a game-time decision, but head coach Leslier Frazier curiously said the team will make a decision before Sunday - which may suggest he won't play. While it's encouraging that Peterson returned to practice this week, the Vikings may not be motivated to have him return if not a full strength in a meaningless game.[breaking News]Fri, Dec 9Peterson (ankle) was on the field, but not doing much during group drills Friday, according to 1500ESPN.com's Tom Pelissero.Spin:Pelissero goes on to say that Peterson's Week 14 status is still up in the air, so this could evolve into a game-time decision for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff against the Lions.

from cbssportsline:

* Peterson listed as questionableVikings RB Adrian Peterson, who has missed two games with anankle injury, is considered questionable for Week 14 at Detroit, according to coach Leslie Frazier. Frazier added heis encouraged by Peterson's progress and he might work Peterson out on Sunday to see where he is at. However, Frazier said that might not be necessary to make a decision regarding his Week 14 status. Peterson added that he is about 80 percent. He plans to play, but he is going to test his ankle out on Saturday. The questionable status is in case the Vikings aren't pleased with how Peterson's ankle reacts over the weekend. It appears he is on track to return, but Fantasy owners are going to have to check back for inactives on Sunday. If Peterson is active, then consider starting him in Fantasy.

Last week did they officially rule him out friday or saturday?
thursday as i had to have my lineup due on thurs evening and i rolled with gerhart.
This is 2011 not 1997 you can't be serious about having your line up due on Thursday.I feel 1 PM deadlines on Sunday are absurd anymore every league should be until that player plays their game you can move them in or out.
Great. Thanks everyone for continuing to post updates.

(Rotoworld) The Vikings have listed Adrian Peterson (ankle) as questionable for Week 14 against the Lions.Analysis: Peterson personally called himself "80 percent" Friday and said he's willing to take a painkilling shot to play. Coach Leslie Frazier hinted that he already "knows what they'll do" with Peterson on Sunday, although he isn't telling. The Vikings will not put Peterson through a pre-game medical test, so either they've decided to play him or to hold him out. We probably won't known for sure until around noon ET Sunday. Toby Gerhart would start if Peterson can't.
80% of AP is more than 100% Gerhart so I have a feeling he's going to play.

Hmm... not even sure how much I can trust him his first game back from injury. I want to start him but I don't know. I'm assuming the plan is he will play the full game without limited snaps which I think is not a given. He had 70ish + 1 TD last time they met when he was at 100%. If Ponder isn't in his upside is probably lower. So many things can go wrong like him getting reinjured or leaving the game early. I might just leave him on my bench and play it safe with both Bush players.

Doesn't matter. It's not about who is better, it's about who is better AND whether or not they should risk injuring their entire future (Peterson) in a game that means absolutely nothing. The should hold him out. Seems about 50/50 as to whether they actually will or not.

Running back Adrian Peterson came off the field with a slight limp from the soreness of practicing on consecutive days after missing the past two games because of a high left ankle sprain. Meanwhile, Christian Ponder worked behind Joe Webb in what was Ponder's first practice since suffering a right hip pointer in last week's loss to Denver.

Both players said that taking a pain-killing shot before the game is an option they would embrace. The team might not be willing to go that far, choosing a more conservative approach to protect two of its most important players during what has become a 2-10 season.

Peterson said he's "probably 80 percent" and will be "pushing to play" no matter how he feels when he wakes up Sunday morning. A year ago, he sprained an ankle at Washington and talked the coaches into letting him play the following week against Buffalo in a game-time decision by Frazier in his second game as interim coach. Peterson went on to rush for 106 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in a Vikings victory.

Frazier said Peterson's input will "make a difference" Sunday but will be weighed against what the team feels is best for Peterson long-term. Frazier wants to see how the ankle responds overnight into Saturday, but the coach was encouraged by what he saw Friday.

"He was able to cut better," Frazier said. "He still has a little bit of a gait when he runs, but he was much better than he was [Thursday]
