Army-Navy Game (1 Viewer)

One of my favorite games to watch all year. I love the pageantry and the stories leading up to it, too.

Navy's helmets are gorgeous.

Does anyone know what is written in the center stripe of the Army helmets?

For many years I didn't appreciate Army Navy, partly because my enjoyment of college football was limited to "big games." As I've gotten older I've learned to appreciate it much more. As you say, the stories and the pageantry are great. The Navy helmets this year are amazing. And I love the clean competition between many of our country's best young men. These guys actually go to class, they do their homework, and they aren't playing just for a shot at the NFL. Love this game.

"Follow Me, Queen of Battle" repeated down the center of the helmets comes from an Army marching cadence which can be heard here.

@PFTCommenter: If the Ravens drafted Edgar Poe Chris Bermen would hyperventlate and die of a heart attack before he even got a chance2 hug Goodell.

I attended the 1998 game. It was a good experience.

I also like that it is old school football. I am not a big fan on the "7 on 7" style of play that has taken over in the NFL and most FBS teams.

You watch the same game I did? Army was throwing deep passes the whole game.

Was wondering if every Navy player had a unique vessel on their helmets? If no two Navy players had the same ship on their helmets?

That is old school.

Got tickets to this through a friend of a friend. This game should be on everyone's bucket list. The whole day was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Really tough to pin down any one favorite part of the day as there was so much to take in. Tailgating, FanFest, Walk On Parade, the game (even though Army lost AGAIN :censored: ). One thing that does stand out for me, and I'm not sure if it made it to the tv broadcast was the invocation. Gave me (and still does) goosebumps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_DKwy-jRrQ

It was on the broadcast, and it was great.
