Aromashodu, Devin (1 Viewer)

I just picked this guy up as Fitz is still questionable and even if he does play he is on a limited amount of snaps. Also I can see the Cards going up a lot early and Fitz getting benched. On the flip side, Devin Hester is out again Sunday vs. Baltimore. Devin Aromashodu filled in for Hester last game and had 8 receptions for 80 yards and a TD. He lead the team in targets with 12. I guess Cutler has been waiting all year for this guy to get healthy as he is his favorite receiver. I think he will be a good emergency replacement for Fitz. What do you guys think?

Never bench your studs. If Fitz plays, even in limited snaps, he has a higher probability of a TD than the guy you mentioned.

You could be right or he could just be the flavor of the week. Both Knox and Bennett have had weeks where they looked like they were going to be featured receivers going forward and it hasn't happened. Could be that this guy who has sort of bounced around the league is going to be the next Brandon Marshall, but I doubt it.

What about EAR-DOU if Fitz is out?
2 ears? I thought Aroma had to do with noses. But if Fitz is out, I like him because Cutler seems to and the Bears will not be able to run the ball...again...for the foreseable future.
that's early doucett (AZ)and as a dynasty hold? yes. as a WR3 in a FF playoff game? don't think so. he's seeing some PT, and doing OK w/ it imo. but, there's still boldin, breaston, and urban before doucett. that, and DET could be about done passing by the 3rd qtr. running the clock / game out w/ wells and HT.

I just wanted to throw out one of those ridiculous short forms that people are so eager to throw out around here these days

Good hands and body control last week. I wouldn't do it if you are in the playoffs after just one week but if he repeats I may start him next week.

Sorry. I thought this thread was about Aromashoadu. :)

Hester OUT Aromashodu IN

One Devin replaces another for BearsPosted by Michael David Smith on December 20, 2009 10:07 AM ETDevin Hester was supposed to be the Bears' top receiver this season. He might not even be their top receiver named Devin.Last week Devin Aromashodu got his first start of the season in place of the injured Hester, and Aromashodu stepped up with eight catches for 76 yards and a touchdown -- a more productive outing than Hester has had in recent weeks.Today Hester is listed as doubtful for the Bears' game against the Ravens, and John Czarnecki of FoxSports.com reports that Aromashodu is starting for Hester again.Ordinarily, it's not good news for a team to lose its No. 1 receiver. For the Bears, it might not be a bad thing.

I went with Fitz and so far so good. FYI, I never said to play Devin instead of Fitz, it was more if Fitz wasn't going to play. I still like Devin though.

Aromashadu is looking like he might be Cutler's go-to guy going forward. He certainly has earned significant PT to close the year and next year if he has a good camp.

I plan on picking up Aromashodu this week and starting him over Dallas Clark (start 3 WR/TE). I though about Mike Wallace (to offset my opponents QB, Ben Roethlisberger) but I like Aromashodu's matchup against Detroit much better and with Johnny Knox most likely inactive that's all the more reason to start him.

Is it Ar-Dre, De-Aro, De-Ar, or Ar-De???   They have all been used in this thread, and we need to come to a consensus, or it's going to be like the early AD / AP threads.

Devin Aromashodu-WR- Bears Dec. 30 - 8:30 am et

Bears coach Lovie Smith admitted that Devin Aromashodu deserves starting consideration in the future.

Smith can't come out and say Aromashodu is the greatest thing since sliced bread because the Bears would look really dumb for benching the speedy receiver all season. Aromashodu has great rapport with Jay Cutler and could push Earl Bennett for the No. 2 receiver job next season.

:lmao:

Was Devin Aromashodu's seven catch, 150 yard, one touchdown performance Monday night a fluke? Well, no.

Jay Cutler has been pleading (begging?) for Aromashodu to get a chance all season. It took a late-season injury to Devin Hester, but it finally has happened. Cutler wanted Aromashodu on the field for one thing: his size. At 6'2 with decent strength and excellent speed, Aromashodu gives Cutler a different kind of option.

Just like the other three teams that have had Aromashodu (Dolphins, Colts, Redskins), the Bears have been hesitant to play him because he's raw. He put up great numbers at the 2006 scouting combine, including a 4.35 40-yard dash time. He was a seventh-round pick because he caught just 26 passes as a senior at Auburn. He didn't show enough in school.

It's a little reminiscent of the Miles Austin situation. Austin played at Monmouth and was always "that guy" who had talent but never got on the field. Aromashodu isn't as good as Austin, but it's certainly a situation to watch. Aromashodu is someone to keep on the radar in all leagues as we head into the offseason.

I like the idea of the original poster. Cutler has been talking about this guy for awhile; before he even started getting playing time. That Lion secondary is awful. OTOH, if you have a Lion WR, they should have a good day as well. The Bears are totally decimated by injuries in their secondary, and at LB as well. Megatron should have a monster game.

Probably won't matter as Culpepper/Stanton are horrible and every team now puts 9 guys on Calvin Johnson every play as there is no one else (on that team) qualified to play in the NFL. Aromashodu should have the big game and bigger than Calvin's.

I'm in no way saying that the Lions passing attack is in the same universe as the Vikings, but you saw what happened in the second half when the Vikings decided to get aggressive and throw the ball downfield against that injury ravaged secondary. 30 second half points. Tillman is one of the better cover corners in the NFL and he will not play. Tillman would've been on Johnson. Now its Corey Graham. Both safeties are backups. Urlacher and Tinoisama (sp?) are out. Physically, they can't match up with Johnson at all.

Either way eventually someone will realize that Hester will be the #2 there next year and Aroshimazilli or someone else (Boldin??) will grab the #1. Hester is not a #1..

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hester as a # 3 or # 4. Bennett is already better than him now, and arguably Knox is as well. Less snaps at WR will help Hester on punt returns and/or kickoff returns. Once he started getting more playing time at WR, his return ability went down sharply.

Which brings to mind Josh Cribbs.......can't help but think if he gets more time on offense it will impact his return game.

Hey Qu-Zi, how about just Aromashodu? I'm getting tired of these really cheesy nicknames. Why do have the need to constantly shorten everyones name? Are we getting too lazy to type in the few extra letters? Unless they or their teammates come up with a nickname, lets just call them by name.

just call him Bob. easier on everyone.
I just picked up Bob for my dreaded week 17 championship game. I think I may have to play him instead of Vincent jackson.
same here..have to play instead of jennings
gonna pick him up and do the same instead of OchoCinco

Cuz it's too long. I go with Aroma, sorta like Housh for Houshmandzadeh.D Aroma ain't stinkin' it up for da Bears. :)
