Considering Miami wants Culpepper, and I'm not sure who is interested in Brees at the moment, but why not Buffalo?

Kelly Holcomb isn't the future of this team, and many think Losman isn't either. I know a lot of people want to give Losman a 2nd year/chance to prove himself, but does anybody really see that happening?

Yes, the O-line was horrible last year and JP was scrambling almost before the ball was in his hands most of the time. He showed some potential here and there, but also made us scratch our heads with some the "ideas" he came up with running away from defenders.

Bringing in Brees might not be the easiest thing to do considering the Bills are most likely going to pick up or draft a few O-lineman/DT. If they hang on to Moulds, which I think could still happen, it will make things even harder. Like any other team in the NFL they are addressing their needs. Is there anything this team needs more than a good, 'young' QB? I don't think so.

I know getting Brees is highly unlikely. I just hate worrying so much about how our QB is going to play from year to year. Since Jim Kelly left it's been like that every year. I hated Flutie, and want to punch anyone who even mentions his name in Buffalo. But I can see why fans were so ridiculous about him: We missed seeing a successful quarterback!

Would I want to get Brees having to sacrifice one or more of the team's needs? Yes. I don't think he's over-rated as some will point out. You don't get opportunities to snag a proven, experienced, and young QB every year. If there's some way Buffalo could do this I say go for it. Things can only get better from where they left off (at least I hope so).

*Edit - then again, maybe 'Drew B' will just raise red flags in Buffalo

*Edit (again) I meant that as a metaphor, not actual 'terrible towel' like flags...that wouldn't be so bad though!

There seems to be some sentiment for Brees by other Bills fans, but not this one. Brees had a great year two years ago, and a very good season this past season.

BUT, he just blew out his arm at the end of the season. Chad Pennington anyone? If the Bills signed Brees, it'd have to be a longterm deal, otherwise you're right back where you started in a year anyway. And if it's a longterm deal and Brees never regains his form you're even worse off than before.

I'd rather revamp the O-line and give Losman a full season. If he doesn't show anything about a full 16 game season under his belt, then it's time to move in another direction.

I do like Brees but from BUF's perspective I'm not so sure I'd trust his track record in playing in poor weather. Maybe it was just because those two stadiums are tough to play in but he hasn't played well in DEN and KC(cold weather outdoor stadiums).

From Brees perspective I'd think he'd want to avoid another situation where they have a young QB waiting in the wings and he has to look over his shoulder again. He excelled in that situation in SD but it can't be a comfortable feeling.

He did pretty well at Purdue.Personally, I don't see the Bills making a run at Brees, although I would be happy to see it happen.

I agree that Buffalo needs to make a move. I guess they are holding out hope for another year that Losman pans out. But I don't see it happening...

I find this sort of funny considering it was only a couple years ago people were saying the same thing about Brees :)

He's damaged goods, will command a high salary that Buffalo can't afford to attempt to over/out-bid other teams for and he's short. Heaven forbid another Doug Flutie in western NY. :lmao:

Considering we sold the farm for JayPEE I think we need to give him another year. I wouldn't mind them bringing in Kitna to compete for the starting job though.

If only they would have let Flutie play in the Music City Miracle...

:stalker:
unless Flutie was going to play on the kick coverage team, I don't think it would have made a difference. Rob Johnson left the field that day with the lead and deserved to win the game.

I can't believe I forgot about Brees' injury...probably because it was at the end of the season and San Diego didn't make the playoffs. Everyone knows there's really no chance the Bills take a shot at Brees. I agree on working on the O-line and giving JP another shot. Only thing is he has to earn that starting spot in the offseason. As much as I think right now that Holcomb is the best bet for a chance of winning - I really want JP under center. If a Buffalo fan tells you differently, they're lying.

*Edit - Now that I can't stop thinking about Brees' injury...I wonder how many times Marty got ##### slapped for that one. I mean really, you've got Rivers right there with not much playing experience who may very well be your starter next year. Out of the playoffs at that point. But then again...what if they put Rivers in and he got hurt? :o

Other than a few long balls, Losman showed me almost nothing. Since the long ball is the easiest ball to throw, this isn't good. Unfortunately for Losman, he is Donaho's guy, and that doesn't bode well for him in his future as a Bill. If Holcomb and Losman are the Bill's QBs entering next season, I want Holcomb to be the starter. Sure Losman needs time to develop, but while he is doing that, he is holding back the rest of the team, and to me that isn't worth it. Besides, Holcomb is bound to get hurt sometime next season, so Losman would get a shot then.
