As of right now, what positions will your NFL (1 Viewer)

snorlax

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
If you want to list specific players or something that's fine, I'm mostly interested in the positions. Also if you feel it might depend on a few specific factors, such as where your team ends up drafting, who falls to a certain spot in the draft, or how a certain player on the team performs this year, feel free to list those qualifications along with alternate picks. I don't think there are too many qualifications for this one (the biggest one probably being free agency), so I won't list any right now.

Green Bay Packers:

Round One: RB (All the backs are injury-prone and have one-year deals. I don't think any of them is the future.)

Round Two: WR (Driver is getting old, Ferguson is soft, Gardner isn't good, Walker is gone, and Rodgers may be a bust. Jennings may be an adequate starter at one side, but someone needs to succeed Driver. A once-deep position is now shallow but could be restocked in next year's deep class.)

Round Three: DE (There is still a need for a good pass-rusher opposite Kabeer.)

Feel free to contribute your own or suggest any changes to mine.

Packers:

Round 1: WR, same reason as you stated

Round 2: RB, Gado seems pretty good he could be the future, but we need someone to back him up to have a good rushing game

Round 3: FS, Collins seems good, but we need another good safety to play along with Collins, I'm not sure if Collins is SS or FS, but if he's SS we need an FS and if he's FS we need a SS

I'm assuming Marquand Manuel is going to do fine opposite Collins; he was pretty good last year for the Seahawks. I'm not really concerned about the defensive backfield in general; of course we could use better depth, but I think that could be had later in the draft. I'm more concerned about the pass rush.

What are you trying to ask?

Are you trying to ask what my favorite team's (Broncos) biggest needs are? Let's see them play a season, first, but if I had to say, I'd say (in no particular order) Tight End, Defensive Line, and Safety.

Are you trying to ask who I think my team will take on the first day next year? Best player available, plain and simple. Lots of teams talk about it, but Denver actually genuinely does take the best player available (which is part of the reason why Shanahan is averaging 10 wins a year).

Consider: this year, coming into the draft, Denver's biggest needs, without question, were Offensive Line, Safety, Wide Receiver, and Defensive End. And Denver didn't draft a single player at any of those 4 positions on the first day (although they DID trade for Javon Walker). Instead, they drafted a QB despite the fact that their current QB went to the pro bowl last season.

Dallas will take a LB in round 1 and TE in round 2 regardless of needs.

Please give me a challenging question. :)

Redskins will go D-line and CB on day one. They already need help at both tackel and end, and Shawn Springs, while still a very good player, isn't getting any younger.

Cleveland Browns: I definitely see them taking a defensive tackle or defensive end in the first round next year. Unless an elite running back or wide receiver falls to them.

49ers:

I think they will take a CB or SS in the first round. If there aren't any top CB's to take, they will probably take the top LB.

I hope thats what they do at least..

EDIT: To correct spelling..

Detroit Lions

Round 1: Right Tackle: A big need for the Lions that they did a mediocre-at-best job of addressing this offseason. Rex Tucker and Barry Stokes are nothing more than stopgaps. Ross Verba could play here, but then there would be a hole at guard.

Round 2: Cornerback: Fernando Bryant was awful in '04 then got hurt in '05. He's got this year to turn it around but I'm not holding my breath.

Can't really predict round 3. There isn't another glaring need right now, but there's a few shaky spots that we could be desperate to patch up in '07.

I'm fairly confident the Texans will be going DB in next year's draft though, being a Georgia Tech fan, I would love to see them grab Calvin Johnson. But that would probably mean they would be drafting much higher than I would like to see.

Bucs are likely going SS/UT/CB on day 1.

McFarland is gone after this season, and there's not really anyone lined up to replace him (and he hasn't exactly lived up to expectations to begin with).

Also, Jermaine Phillips needs to be replaced, but because there are so many young safeties, they may find one pans out and not need to draft there.

CB will also be a need for when Kelly retires in a couple seasons. Barber is probably gone after this season, and Zemaitis will replace him, but there isn't a replacement for Kelly.

Overall, they will be going defense defense defense, and potentially looking to draft a Randle-El-esque gadget guy.

If they were drafting now, I believe the Chiefs would take:

1.) An offensive tackle -- Willie Roaf will be retired this time next year and the replacement is a question mark. There is some potential in the young guys on the roster, but a thoroughbred first-round talent would ease the transition.

2.) A cornerback -- Biggest question mark on the team, and since drafting now precludes knowledge of 2006 performance, another cover guy is required.

3.) A wide receiver -- Another position that has young (and unknown) players. As of now, it's a concern that would be addressed.

Bills

Offensive linemen

Possibly WR unless someone emerges opposite Evans

A complimentary DE to play alongside Schobel

If the Losman experiment fails (I think he will mature well enough to keep his job), maybe a QB

But it largely depends on what talent is there when they pick.

Jaguars:

Rufus Alexander (ILB) / Tom Zbitkowski(underclassman) (S) / HB Blades (ILB/OLB)

Depending on who they think has more value. Mike Peterson and Donovan Darius will both need to be replaced. This decision most likely will come down to whether they think Gerald Sensabaugh is the heir to the SS spot. They could very well go FS if it gives them the best value. Shack Harris is all about the BAP.

The Jets: They have two second round picks, and that extra second will come in very handy.

First Round: Unless Houston surprises, most likely an RB as long as it's a high pick for a premier prospect like Peterson. If Houston performs well, and the Jets don't have a top 5 pick, they will still take an RB, but it could be in the 2nd or 3rd rounds

Second round: A WR and a 3-4 NT, unless Pouha surprises this year.

Third round: LG

Hard to predict what this new regime will do however.... I could see yet another TE, a ORT or an LB almost as easilly. No doubt in my mind the top 3 needs are RB, WR and a NT though, but some of those needs could be addressed in FA with the cap space these guys have created.
