The best CB at what? Brown is pretty good, and he's without a doubt better in run support, but Samuel makes the big INTs and is flashier. I still think Samuel is the better of the 2, but it's not a slam dunk.

Nah, I'm a pretty big eagles fan and I thought even Lito Sheppard was better than Brown. Asante Samuel is amazing IMO. Brown is alright and I think any team would take him but he will never be one of the best.

Of the top of my head, I can only think of ONE cornerback who's exceptional at BOTH run support and coverage leading to turnovers. His name is Champ Bailey. There are plenty of safeties who can do both, but without the coverage responsibilities of a corner. It is true that Samuels is not great at run support but he's exceptional at coverage/turnovers. You can find plenty of corners around the league who are good at run support but nothing special in coverage, and Brown is one of them.

Your Philly fan is speaking from the heart. Sheldon is a fan favorite, and well liked by us fans. He is a solid corner, but not particularly stellar at anything

I'm a big Sheldon fan, but when it comes to all-around CB, Samuel wins easily.

Why would you contend he's overpaid? He was the top free agent DB on the market last year, and landed a 6-year, $57mm deal. What's unreasonable about that?

I thought the same thing. Voted Samuel. Brown will be a starter on some team this year and will probably play very well. Of course, the Eagles could always keep him around for injury insurance.

I'm sorry but Lito isn't better than either. He WAS better than Sheldon before he wanted out of Philly but since then there is a reason he was passed on the depth chart by Joselio Hanson.

Asante Samuel's is much better than Sheldon Brown in terms of playmaking ability- Brown is a little better in run support and has not missed a game in his career so he has an edge in durability
