Say Peterson is suspended indefinitely just because Goodell doesn't want to look dumb in front of or he nation again what does everyone think his possible stats could be for the year. Do you even think he stays the starter the whole year? If he stays starter I could see him getting 1200 total yards maybe 40 receptionsand a total of 8 touchdowns at most.

To be honest I don't see Goddell levying any discipline until the judicial process plays out. AP owners like myself should be more concerned with the public court of opinion that the Vikings as a organization have to face. I certainly expect AP to play again this season, not sure when though.

So you believe Minnesota will take action first because of the public over Goodell?
I think if the texts and photos are verified by NFL security or Minnesota's own investigators, then Minnesota will take action quickly and not wait long for the league.

My thoughts exactly. If the pics are real and can be verified the Vikings will be forced to either release him or suspend him for the season and the NFL will follow suit just as they did with Ray Rice after Baltimore cut him. The pics that are out there if verified clearly show abuse of a defenseless child and unlike the Ray McDonald case where the 49ers are letting due process take its course, Peterson has admitted his guilt, McDonald has not.

This is what would have happened before Ray Rice.

The NFL just took one of its biggest black eyes in quite some time last week. Goodell is hanging onto his job by a thread. All that wearing pink nonsense was thrown out the window with one punch from Ray Rice in an elevator, and a video coverup. They are gonna look at those photos of a 4 year old defenseless child. They aren't even going to flinch in suspending him for a long, long time. Most likely indefinitely.

I don't know what to project out of Asiata. I have McKinnon in both dynasty leagues I'm in, but I think Asiata is the play for 2014. Probably most of it. My guess is given health, Asiata will be a solid top 20 RB going forward. ie. a startable RB2.

You do realize that Goddell is an attorney first and foremost right? You use words like defenseless, coverup... These are emotional terms that mean little in a courtroom or contract. The majority of reactions in this forum are emotional outcries. Relevant perhaps to the Vikings public image, but irrelevant in the NFL's policies.

Ray McDonald and Greg Hardy are playing this weekend. Hardy was found guilty 2 months ago. AP is deactivated and hasn't even had a preliminary hearing. He's still getting paid this game by the Vikings. For Goddell to move on this incident with completely disregard for due process and levy immediate suspension would effectively make him judge, jury, and executioner. There's no way the NFLPA is going to be OK with that. The legal ramifications simply won't allow for this to happen, regardless of how egregious we the public deem Peterson's actions.

So...not much in the way of projections here. I'm not sure what we have in this guy. Week to week, is he the kind of back who could catch four or five passes as well as carry the mail for much of the game (PPR league)? Is he the goal-line option -- he ran in a bunch of short ones in relief last year, I believe.

Is this an average talent in a good situation kind of deal? In my mind that would be 70-ish yards, a few passes and goal line work. Is that what people are expecting as far as opportunities?

What exactly has Aaron Hernandez been convicted of?

800/5 is more realistic. Those are probably Eddie Lacy numbers.

Dude, the guy's been in jail for a year on 3 indictments of MURDER. Peterson spanked his kid too hard. Let's not get carried away here...

I don't think the Eagle wants this bad press, especially with how much lashback Ray rice incident got. He'll probably be "deactivated" 3+ weeks

What could possibly change in 3+ weeks that would allow him to be reinstated after having been suspended for 3+ weeks?

The facts are out there really.. He's admitted to a grand jury to doing it and we have photographic evidence as to the extent. I don't think there is a chance the legal proceeding will wrap in 3 weeks or even by end of year, so I don't see anything short of an acquittal and one helluva PR campaign that somehow changes the public's mind. I just don't see it.

And like Hernandez he has been indicted and unlike Hernandez he has admitted already to doing it. Due process does not need to run its course for a suspension to take place by the Vikings or the NFL. After the Rice incident no way are they going to sit on it or be lax. Peterson is milque toast at this point. The NFL will have to come down hard and fast to protect their image.

he's a decent pass catcher, so that's a plus in ppr league. He will get RB1 touches and can put up RB2 numbers.

I do not believe Asiata is a shoe in for the same numbers that Moreno+Miller put up last week on NE. 1st of all the weather had a huge impact as the Pats defense was on the field the entire 2nd half and by the time the 4th Q rolled around they were gassed. I don't think Minneapolis will have the same 90+ degree heat and super high humidity.

I see a workmanlike effort with perhaps 14-17 carries for about 60 yards on the ground and another 3-4 receptions for about 20-30 yards and I would say about a 40-50% chance of a rushing TD. If the Vikes rush for a TD this weekend there is a better than 75% chance it is Asiata crossing the goal line.

15/65/TD, 3/20

17 points in PPR, not bad.

Peterson didn't light it up in a 38-6 drubbing, could things be much worse for ADP owners forced to start Asiata this week? I would say Asiata has a very good chance of scoring higher than ADP did in week 1.

The Vikes are going to fall behind early in this game and will be throwing a ton. I don't see a big game from the RBs but I do see the WR having decent games. Belichick and Brady are going to run this one up.

I agree with you somewhat. Not sure it will be a Pats rout but I don't see the Vikes runnng out the clock either.

I think McKinnon takes the starting job over after this week. Mckinnon is a better pass catcher, and had a SPARQ score of 147.5 with 140 being elite. The rookie was drafted by Zimmer, and is a faster and better fit for Zimmers system.

I'll say it yet again - he admitted to what is legal in the state he did it.

Toby Gerharts SPARQ was 131. Just because you can run fast and bench press 225lbs a bunch of times compared to your bodyweight doesn't really mean you're going to be a great RB.

So wrong for so many reasons. You think the NFLPA is going to just sit by and watch the league suspend a player with no legal justification? What happens when AP is found not guilty, and Goodell suspended him prematurely? They are already looking at a possible lawsuit from Rice for lying about receiving the elevator video. Moreover there is divided public sentiment on just how far the government and the law should extend into the family. Should Goodell begin issuing official statements on the NFL's stance on abortion as well?

The NFL will tread VERY carefully, despite what your heart of hearts say.

you think a guy that is a converted QB from a small school is ready to start after a few preseason games and one training camp. I think you underestimate the art of playing RB specifically pass protection.I own both Asiata and McKinnon in different leagues, but believe this is Asiata's job until the end of the year.
