Missed my connecting flight to Denver from San Jose and am forced to stay the night at McCarran airport. Waiting for the 5:55 to Denver.

Oh and what's the temp? We left on Tuesday and it was starting to get cold out. And last night it was 12° colder in Vegas than Wisconsin.

Well, there were a series of bad decisions that lead to this whole predicament. First and foremost, thinking that I could get a little sleep. Second, choosing the first flight back to Denver in the morning.

Obviously too late now, but McCarran is probably the last airport I would sit in for hours. A ten minute shuttle provides you with so many options.

I flew out of Vegas a couple weeks ago. The flight I was on was overbooked, so they were looking for volunteers to give up their seats and go on a later flight. This flight was supposed to take off at 12:40pm on a Friday. The flight they were offering to put us on was on Saturday. They were offering a $300 flight voucher (for Southwest) and to put the person up in a hotel (didn't specify which one - while there are some great hotels in Vegas, there are some really shady ones, too. Which do you think the airline would spring for?). I don't know if anyone took the offer. I was so ready to get out of Vegas at that point, I didn't even consider it.

Ten minute walk. There's a "best western Macarran inn" or whatever just up the street. It's actually cheaper to do their stay and park deal or whatever it's called than park in the parking garage there if you have a morning flight.
