Sexson vs Escobar or Swisher vs King Felix? Who do i start tonight? ETA...I'm in a head to head league and haven't had any pitchers go yet. Do I start Zambrano against the Mets and risk the bum costing me whip and era for the week? Or should I just bench him? I'm playing the weakest team in the league and a guy who has like 3 starting pitchers.

OK first off, i would start Swisher in all formats over Sexson, he has the same power plus a better BA and OBPS than Big SexyA smart player would bench Zabrano till he rights his ship, and the Mets are a lethal offense.I personally would roll the dice and start him tonight, i see a possible 6 inning 3ER 6K's plus a W for tonight

Ok one more. Who would you start in the utility spot (I'm thinking more in terms of the long haul here rather than just for tonight)--Cust or Hamilton? Who has more upside?

Long Haul?

For sure Hamilton, Josh has hit his first bump in the road, which was expected, Cust is just have his moment ala Shane Spencer

Plus Piazza will be back in a month to steal at bats from Cust

he has offered me

Pujols

Frucal

Sizemore

I give

Uggla

Jeter

A.Jones

Still a good deal for me?

I can get this right now.

I can also give up CC Sabathia and get Jenks with deal if I want

1st in power #s with Sheffield sucking so far but coming on - 2nd to last in Saves and Whip

I give Sheffield

I receive Nathan

no brainer?

Sonnanstine or Hammel? Quick!
Unless its a deep AL only league i see no reason why you have to make this decision nowIts a coin flip which one will get called up first, but there is no reason why they both cant pitch in the D Rays awful rotation

Yeah of courseNathan is only one of a handful of closers who are really locks for 40 saves barring injury

Not a jokeShould I trade him Chuck James instead of CC?
If you can get a closer for Chuck James who is a little bit better than a waiver wire pitcher of course you do it

What numbers do you see Lincecum finishing up with? Do you see him becoming a # 1 fantasy starting pitcher this year?
Linc lets assume will pitch 160 innings barring injuryi see him at around 10-12 wins with about 150 K's and an ERA below 4 basically kind of what Hamels did last year

who would you rather add to your roster:Carlos Gomez of Fred Lewis?
Gomez is not much of a power hitter so he really shouldnt be rostered at the moment in any leagueMaybe Lewis has a crazy month, who knows, but he really isnt worth a spot eitherIf i had to pick one, its Lewis

' date='May 15 2007, 05:50 PM' post='6757963']Lohan or Spears?Not a keeper league
This is as easy as it getsLohan by a mile! :excited: Lindsey is still hot as hell, while i doubt if Britney would get any play even if she was standing outside the Plaza Hotel Naked!Even the Naked Cowboy would turn Britney down :)

Who is going to close in Oakland while Street is on the DL?
This is a tough question, it would be Duscherer, but he might also go on the DLno one knows at this point, maybe Witasik
It doesn't sound good for Dusch.........who then?Witasik, really? How about Calero? Embree?
No one knows at the moment, Rotoworld speculates it either Calero or EmbreeWitasik might also be in the mix

Do the A's have enough in their system to make a killer offer for Turnbow?

Cant answer such a broad question, but there are a few quality setup men, such as Linbrink and Mike Gonzalez for the A's to look into if Street is out a while

In a keeper league where players can be kept for 2 more years after this year, would you rather have BJ Upton at $5 ($260 cap) or Brandon Phillips at $11? Is this even close?

Not even closeBJ will for 5 bucks in a keeper is almost orgasmic

NL v AL, H2H pts. league, I have Glaus, Youkilis, and Teahen eligible at third base, could I afford to lose Glaus with these replacements....or would you hold onto him despite his bone spurs which looks like it will give him problems all year?

Of course you hold onto Glaus if he is still playingYesterday he clubbed a monster HR and was supposed to be outGuy can hit 40HR's

I have Brett Myers, who has been performing well as the new closer. Gordon will probably come off the DL in the next week or so. Do you expect Myers to keep the closing job? Should I try to trade Myers now, while his status is up in the air? The guy who has Gordon offered me Bonderman or Harang for Myers about 10 days ago. My lineup:s1 - Shields, Js2 - Capuanos3 - Wakefields4 - Lincecums5 - Pettitter1 - Putzr2 - Borowskir3 - Myersu1 - Accardou2 - Gagnersv - Lowryrsv - Garcia, Frsv - Cabrera, F (handcuff to Borowski)DL - MillwoodDL - Zumaya11 team roto league:Wins: dead lastSaves: 2nd placeERA: 7thWHIP: 9th

OK i am back for more questions now,Definitely do the Myers for Bonderman deal ASAPYou have weak SP and you have enough depth to afford the loss of Myers, who will still stay the closer, unless they want to play Gordon in order to trade himDo the deal

With Holds as a category i guess that makes Okajimah kind of valuableMiggy>>>> HardyCain < Nathan Okajima= Hamilton (with holds only)I really like the Miggy, Cain side.Unless you cant afford to lose saves this is a no brainer for the Cabrera side

Potential Blockbuster:

Konerko ($24), Lowell ($4), Cain ($11), F. Liriano ($1)

for

Teixeira ($29), Atkins ($3), Chris Young (SP, Padres $8)

-

$260 cap, Atkins can be kept next year for $3. Cain, Young, and Liriano can all be kept for 2 more years (after this year) at their current price. Which side do you like more?

I like the Teix side by a a small marginTeix will get better, he is a 35 HR guy at the least, Konerko seems to be on a downswing, but his power is still there, so its Teix by a hair Atkins at that price compared to Lowell is great value, He will turn it around.Young is not as good as Cain especially in a keeperLiriano does not carry much value even in keeper league, cause he still will bring to many questions when he is backGood fair trade and a case can be made for either side

I was going to answer this, but it is your thread and I didn't want to step on any toes. I think you did a fair job with this one, but might point out that the "gamblin'" player will like the Cain/Liriano side of the deal based on potential (though Lowell is at the age where he could fall apart in a hurry.

Agree with you, If an owner believes that Cain is Peavy II and Liriano will be back strong ala Carpenter did, than he will probably like that side

Do you think Sexson will ever turn it around this year or is he a lost cause for the year? Do you see him hitting even 25 hrs this year?

Last year after 54 games Sexson was batting .205 with 6 homers and 29 RBI'sThis year through 35 games he is batting .171 with 5 Homers and 20 RBI'sSee what i am getting at?He finished last year with a bad but not hideous .264 with 34 HR's and 103 Rbi'sSo he will bounce no doubt about that, maybe the average wont be higher than 250 at the end of the year but 30+ HR's seems very possible
