Assuming Galloway is out for a while, who gets his looks? (1 Viewer)

Joey Galloway seems to be out for a while. While he's out, who will get the majority of looks? Michael Clayton, Antonio Bryant or Ike Hilliard?

Galloway, 36, couldn’t finish the game Sunday so there’s a chance he will miss this week’s game. If that proves to be the case, the Bucs could replace him with either Antonio Bryant, Dexter Jackson, Maurice Stovall or Michael Clayton. All have been trained as split ends as well as flankers.

Well that sure clears things up

I think it's Hilliard, regardless of Galloway's health. Griese won't be throwing the ball more than 15 yards downfield, so expect a lot of 7/65 days of Hilliard. Decent spot starter who will generate points.

Any word on Galloway's status.. is it a 1 week injury or longer? Old man is finally breaking down...

Just read a report that Bryant is moving into Galloway's spot for this weeks game, and Clayton is #2. What about Hilliard? Slot #3 I guess

Michael Clayton, whatever went wrong with that guy, I thought he was a player.
Good question, my guess is that there is/was an issue with either with his work ethic or running poor routes. There could be an off field issue, but who knows.

Makes sense. Those are Bryant's and Hilliards' respective positions historically, and I would think that Bryant's a faster downfield threat.

Antonio Bryant will move from flanker to Galloway’s split end spot and is now the most valuable fantasy wideout on the Bucs’ roster. He’s a former 1,000-yard receiver and should be added in leagues with 12-plus teams.Michael Clayton will move into the starting lineup at flanker, while Ike Hilliard remains in the slot.

TBO is probably the worst source for Bucs info after the St. Pete Times

Jeremy Stevens is coming back, and I expect him to have an impact in the passing game. The Bucs WR enigma has given me a head ache all off-season. First, Clayton was looking great. Then Stovall, and now Bryant seems to be Grudens flavor of the week. Dexter Jackson should get more targets as the season goes on, but was primarily drafted for ST & is a project at WR. Not sure why Clayton hasn't seen more action... There were rumors that he was on the trading block, and they didn't want him to suck it up and lose his trade value by playing him like Simms.

Anyone know if Bryant was even targeted with Griese last week?

He didn't have a catch.

If Bryant was targeted a lot then no problem, but just wondering why no catches.

he was targeted twice, but galloway didn't leave the game until the 4th. tough to use that as a barometer.

Sep 17 Roy Cummings, of The Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Michael Clayton worked with the first-team offense at flanker during practice Wednesday, Sept. 17. He was replacing WR Antonio Bryant, who worked at split end, replacing injured WR Joey Galloway (ankle). If Galloway is not able to play Week 3, Clayton and Bryant will start at wide receiver.

Hilliard might be the best option in PPR leagues. He's a top target on third down, and could easily get 5-7 catches with even an end-zone look. Think Bobby Engram-lite.
