That's an interesting question. What do you guys think?
Joe Thomas, LT, WisconsinI think if they get 4 or 5 or something like that, they've got to go O-Line, assuming there's a "can't miss prospect" available. I can't really see them taking yet another QB. I'd think they'd like to give C-Pep another chance after he does some rehab, they rebuild the line, etc before they'd completely bail on him.
If they do not do this, I am becoming a patriot fan. 5 or 6 years after passing on getting Hasselbech for a second rounder the dolphins will have spent how many picks getting a replacement for dan marino?Next draft should be all about O line and Secondary. Anything less and saban should be fired.Joe Thomas, LT, WisconsinI think if they get 4 or 5 or something like that, they've got to go O-Line, assuming there's a "can't miss prospect" available. I'd just like to see them take the best non-skill position player available at the spot they pick and not worry about a specific need. If the best guy there is a stud LT, that's what I'd like to see...but if it's an impact defensive player, that's fine with me, too. But however they do it, they certainly need to figure out a way to get the O-Line to at least average. The Dolphins definitely SHOULD go OL, but, for some reason, I have the feeling Saban will use such a high draft pick on an impact defensive player. Not that I think the Dolphins don't need OL, just that I think Saban will go for a more high profile D player.
I don't think so...i think they'll shut him down for the year, bring him back in next year behind a rebuilt line and go with the "Well, he wasn't really healthy" line. I could see them taking a flyer on QB in the 4th round or something, though. If he bombs next year, they'll suck again, see if the guy they took in the draft can play, and if not they'll use a high pick on one. IMO, of course, but I just can't see Saban using another pick on a QB.I know he was bad to start the year, but they've given up on Culpepper already? I mean, he just had his knee blown out last year.![]()
Too bad Saban isn't the GM anymore, and I don't think he'll be making the final decisions. The last few draft picks he's had have been sucking pretty bad, which is why they brought Mueller in to begin with.It is what it is said:Marc Levin said:The Dolphins definitely SHOULD go OL, but, for some reason, I have the feeling Saban will use such a high draft pick on an impact defensive player. Not that I think the Dolphins don't need OL, just that I think Saban will go for a more high profile D player.![]()
Huge Fins fan and a depressed one at that. No, the Dolphins are far from giving up on Culpepper. Everyone knows it takes 18-24 months to completly recover from such a bad knee injury. When Culpepper is declared 100% I have no doubt we will see the guy we saw pre 2005. Not saying he will put up 4500 yards and 39 TD's but somewhere in between that. Do not be suprised if the Dolphins make a move next season for Randy Moss and trade Chambers to aquire him. Pure speculation on my part, but it would not shock me. They need to get big and nasty on the OL and younger on the D.L. They need some secondary help as well.Saban tore the secondary apart. We traded Sutain for peanuts, that was his first huge error. The Dolphins are a bad football team. They make so many mental mistakes it is disgusting. When you throw for 400 plus yards and Chambers has a quiet day you know something is wrong. As much as I felt Chambers to have elite skills he does not have elite focus. He is not ever going to be an elite WR. Ronnie Brown, and Daunte Culpepper are 2 guy's to build around along with Hagan. They need to move Chambers for Moss if they can pull that off and reunite him with C.Pep, which I have a strong feeling may happen next year. Pick a stud LT in the draft if one is available. Move Zach Thomas ( which we should have done instead of moving our stud CB in Surtain) for an extra 2nd and 3rd to a team needing that one MLB to put them over the top and slide Crowder to the middle. We need to have a great draft and free agent off season for the next 2 years. This team is a mess.Capella said:I know he was bad to start the year, but they've given up on Culpepper already? We have a winner!Unless AZ or OAK gets to him first. Miami needs this big nasty OL.Kleck said:Joe Thomas, LT, WisconsinJBTV said:I think if they get 4 or 5 or something like that, they've got to go O-Line, assuming there's a "can't miss prospect" available.
