Valverde may be the most talented, least used pitcher in MLB this seaosn.

Serious question...do you watch a lot of baseball?I know you have a friend that has some part in the Astros organization....I'm thinking Media Relations...but what in the world would make you say something like this?Furthermore, why would the Diamondbacks, an organization that won their division last year, and just made a trade for a great #2 starter, maybe #1a starter, trade the most talented least used pitcher to the Astros for a bunch of garbage? He's only 28-29 years old. His contract is far from prohibitive. If he was really great, maybe they could he could have fetched more in return than Chad Qualls (journeyman middle reliever), Chris Burke (will be lucky to break spring training with their AAA team) and a marginal prospect. I think this was a great trade for the Astros, but that is because they were desperate for someone who has proven they can handle closing. Valverde had a great year last year, but in no way is that to be expected again. Fact is, if Brandon Lyon never got injured, Valverde may have found himself the 8th inning man for a few years....and now it appears Pena is ready to close, so Valverde was expendable. Valverde is your typical head case reliever. Walks too many people, and is one or two bad outings from blowing up for a month. That being said, I like him

I think the Astros gave up nothing they couldn't afford to lose and filled a large hole in their bullpen with a decent reliever (very far from the most talented, least used pitcher in the big leagues)
