He played in Europe last year and is only 26 years old...can he continue to produce like a DB1? Where does he rank amont the other DBs? I'm still trying to figure out this IDP thing and I haven't watched the Bears play this year, but his numbers sure are impressive!

35 tackles, 10 assists, 2 forced fumbles, 1 INT in 6 games (Week 7 bye)

He plays for the Packers.

and i would say he is currently a top 10 DB...

Atari Bigby came from NFL Europe after ending his career at UCF. Here at UCF, he was not the best pass coverage guy but he could lay the wood to anyone coming across the middle and was excellent in run support.

anyone know how bigby is effecting nick collins? thanks guys.
I have both on one dynasty squad and so far Nick Collins has been invisible. I can't say I know exactly why, but I'm wondering whether Bigby is taking the plays that Collins used to make. I have heard Packer homers grumble that Collins' game (exclusive of Bigby) has declined too but I'm not sure why.

I too have both Collins and Bigby in dynasty and just dropped Collins last week to pickup DL Andre Carter. Collins has been average at best going back to most of LAST season.

Collins' issues are probably a combination of things.

Collins has never been a monster tackler. His 66 and 67 solo tackle seasons ranked out of the top 30 DBs in both 2005 and 2006. This season, his tackling is down, and probably more due to supporting cast than anything else. In 2005, Collins played alongside SS Mark Roman and behind WLB Robert Thomas. Last season, he played alongside SS Marquand Manuel and behind an injured Nick Barnett. This season, he has a solid DT unit, a healthy Barnett, and rangy pursuit and run stopping talents in AJ Hawk and Bigby.

Packer homers and coaches have fussed over Collins' coverage instincts many times over the past two plus seasons. His tackling has never been Bob Sanders-like, but it's sufficient. Unless you have elite talent, favorable scheme or a poor supporting cast, though, a free safety isn't going to crack the top 20 tackling DBs.

thanks for the info everyone. awesome as usual. this board is why i'm currently the only 5-1 team in a 20team w/idp.

gb unit is hard to figure out for numbers geeks. with the bye week and small benches i'll also be cutting ties to collins.

Where would you guys rank him going forward? I really want to pick him up, but can I drop Harper for him?

20 teams? damn.

I'd do that in a heartbeat.Bigby is doing really well and there are absolutely no signs that it will stop anytime soon. I expect him to keep it up this year and should be a highly ranked DB next year.

I'm in an 18-teamer. I dropped Nick Collins for him a few weeks back and have been happy with Bigby's production. Jene Bramel- good analysis of Collin's problems.Relatively recently an article (I can't remember the source) compared Bigby to a young LeRoy Butler, anyone seen enough of Bigby or have any comments on this ?

The next of the Bob Sanders line of lb/s hybrids. Very strong in run support yet able to assist Cbs on Wrs.

In Dynasty get him if its not too late.

Wondering what everyones thoughts are on Bigby as of now. Im debating on whether or not he is reliable enough to lean on as my #2 db option behind Gibril Wilson. Bigby didn't have too great of a game this week for the packers, but had a decent week fantasy-wise in tackle heavy idp formats. I know the packers drafted the kid Rouse from VT early in the draft this year with high expectations for him, and he was competing for the job in Pre-season, yet bigby won the job. However im just interested in hearing what people think of Rouse possibly taking Bibgy's job sometime this year, especially if he continues to have poor games like this past week. Anyone see that happening? GB homers feel free to chime in! Thanks

As a Rouse owner, I'd appreciate any insight as well.

Bigby had an awful game, penalty-wise. An unnecessary roughness on 3rd and 9, a pass interference on 3rd and 5, a delay of game for kicking the ball, and another pass interference on Denver's final drive. He may well have been benched after that last one, as he didn't have another stat after that, and the announcers did mention that Rouse was in there.

I doubt it's anything permanent, the coaches might just view it as him playing aggressively. I haven't heard any word on his status, yet, but it should be a concern going forward.

With Collins out do they bring in Rouse to play his natural position at SS and move bigby to FS ? Or do you think Rouse comes in and plays FS?

Thanks for your thoughts on this
