Atlanta at Miami (1 Viewer)

Atlanta with first blood on the opening drive. Looking very solid. My Phins having their typical difficulties with covering the TE position.

 
Let me name all the things Miami could do wrong in the 1st Q...

-Allow Atlanta with no real running game to drive for 10:00 on you to open the game and allow a plodding Jason Snelling running it in from 5 yds out.

-3 n out for the Phins and Tannehill showing zero pocket presence.

-Cameron Wake injured

...great game so far.

Atlanta 10-0

I would allow the run game over 1 pass to Julio Jones. Not sure Atlanta can continue that game plan in the 2nd half but we'll see. Miami fortunate that Atlanta stalled twice and settled or FGs.

Miami has 2 minutes left in the half, would like to see them move the ball into at least FG range.

I'm somewhat conflicted here. I have Julio in my $ league. :oldunsure:

If you are watching the game, Atlanta had the ball the entire 1st Q and I do mean the entire 1st Q minus 3 plays. That leaves the 2nd Q...Miami had 1 drive in the 2 minute offense, they only had 1-2 other drives in the 2nd Q, Miller took one 50 yards...I get what you're saying but you gotta understand what is happening. There is an excellent chance he will get more touches int he 2nd half. Thomas has looked good as well.

2nd half thoughts...Miami needs to get their defense on and off the field much faster and not because they are allowing long TDs over the top to WRs. 3 n out twice would be excellent in this half. Would like to see Wake come back in the game but I am losing hope, he would be out there already if he could.

Miami needs to get that running game established so Tannehill has protection to drop back and work the deep routes. It's all there for the taking but they gotta make some plays on defense, so far not so much.

 
I'm thinking about dropping Blair Walsh and picking up Sturgis for my fantasy leagues. Have to look for the silver lining where I can here.

Caleb Sturgis booms it from 50 yards out and had room to spare...best PK I've seen for us since Pete Stoyanovich.

We're still within 1 TD, Atlanta 20-Miami 13...c'mon Phins, we need this defense to show anything. They haven't stopped the run, no pass rush, Wake is out, this is not good.

 
White did not have possession, Miami will challenge and this will bring up 4th and long, Atlanta punting...Miami gets the ball, still half of the 3rd Q left...heat gonna start playing a factor in this one. Phins need a long drive no matter FG/TD, keep these guys out there the rest of the 3rd Q and soften them up for the 4th.

Humidity was a factor on the last pass, slippery balls.

 
Miami gets a gift 30 yard punt, add another 10 on there for a holding call, net 20 yards on the punt. Miami set up at mid field.

I said sustained drive, #### that, over the top right now to Wallace or Hartline, pick your poison Tannehill, up top right now old school style like the Raiders used to do.

 
1st down...THill terrible pass

2nd down, Miller not much

3rd down...Rishard Mathews makes his 2nd gigantic 3rd down conversion on the day, very nice.

 
Lamar Miller has gotten the ball on 1st down to run 3 times this half...he has 3 or 4 yds total on those carries, he's killing us right now.
