Attack of the backup RBs (Forsett, Sims, Lewis etc...) (1 Viewer)

Well, as we come to the end of the year, this may be the last week to set your roster for the playoffs (or you may be able to drop add all the way through).  Let's talk backups with opportunity and see what we can see... Please feel free to add to these lists since I am doing this off the cuff...

Lotto Tickets with no startability unless injury happens:

Ellington

Deangelo Williams

Alfred Morris

Kenneth Farrow?

-- I think that some of these guys are available, but perhaps not. Alfred Morris seems to be most in line if something happens to EE or if they start to rest him down the stretch.

Backups who get some carries:

Forsett -- Not sure what happens here, but Kubiak is saying it's a timeshare.

Sims/Rodgers - may be too hard to pick the right one.

Dion Lewis-- we all want him to take over (unless you own Blount), but it seems like the usual BB 3 headed monster.

Jalen Richard -- 3rd down back,

Burkhead -  Hill getting more work, but there is still a split there.

Most of the other guys are spoken for in leagues (but we can discuss them).

Any thoughts.  My main thought process in this is let's assume you have a guy on your roster from the first group.  Would you drop one of them for the second group? or, if you had someone in the second group (Or multiple guys in the second group holding RB2,3 or 4 spot), would you cut bait and hope to hit the lotto with one of the first?

How would you set up your RB roster for the playoffs...

Don't forget Vereen.

I just rostered Forsett with last bench spot. Figure he knows the offense and has fresh legs. Kubisk was his coach in Texas and Baltimore. Think he will be given a chance to succeed given they are in the playoff hunt and Booker has between terrible since starting in place of injured CJA.

I think a good hold as he could take over with a good performer this week

I picked up both Sims and Forsett -  hoping one of them gives me a viable flex option in the next two weeks -  and even if I don't use them, at least I can keep them off of another playoff teams roster.

Picked up Forsett but then I saw Gilly sitting on the wire.

Thinking of dropping Forsett and scooping him instead.

Latest update sounds a lot like Forsett has a real shot at taking over this backfield with a good showing. Either that or Kubiak is trying to give his struggling RB a kick in the butt to motivate him.

Coach Gary Kubiak made it clear Wednesday that Justin Forsett is an immediate part of the Broncos' backfield plans.

Struggling mightily for the last month-plus, Devontae Booker is going to have to raise his level of play immensely in order to hold off Forsett, who probably knows the offense better than Booker does considering Forsett's history with Kubiak. "He can help us quick," Kubiak said. "We need somebody to step in and contribute. It was a blessing he was let go the week before what we just went through." Forsett gives the Broncos late-season fresh legs and will be given an opportunity to become a meaningful part of their offense during a playoff push. The 8-4 Broncos are one game back of the 9-3 Chiefs and two games back of the 10-2 Raiders.

Please no Motivating Denver RB takes.  That has jumped the shark.

really.  Please.

??

Stashed him  figuring if he doesn't look good this week can cut him.

Denver has a top defense but they need a spark on offense. Forsett doesn't have a lot of miles on his tires and is only 2 seasons removed from a RB1 season in a Kubiak led offense.

No real better stashes.ariimd who can take a job without injury this late in the year.

Right? And he's gotta be fresh.
