Attending the NFL Draft (1 Viewer)

My young teenage sons have been bugging me to take them to the NFL draft in NY this May.

Although, I think that it could get a bit tedious with a couple of teenagers who know maybe 10 college players, I said that I'd look into it.

Appreciate any info from folks that have done this:

How do you get tickets?

How much $$?

Any "do's or don'ts" in terms of making this a more enjoyable experience?

Thanks

Go the night before the draft to Javits. We had heard rumors about passing out wristbands early, so we went and checked it out around 11 and they told us if we weren't in line that night, we wouldn't get in. So DO NOT wait until the next morning to go stand in line. It was about 2 hours in line, but it was worth it.

-Book a hotel room early, because they will fill up.

-On the 28th, get in line at least 2 hours in advance. If it starts at 12, then be there by 10. The seats are first come first serve, so the earlier you get there, the better the seat. At RCMH, every seat was a good one, but I don't know anything about Javits.

The draft is a sprint, not a marathon. Bring in your draft magazines, if you don't have some, get some, even if it's just the rinky-dink Sporting News one.

Coolest thing about the draft is they hand out little transistor radios, with earphones, so you can hear the ESPN broadcast.

To get in the first day, you need to wait in line the night before, at least you needed to last year. Expect to get there at 6 or 7 if you really want to not sweat the tickets. The tickets were given out starting at midnight.

You can get in the second day if you come at 7 or 8 in the morning on sunday, maybe even later. The beautiful part is that if you stay til the last pick, you can get on a list that gets reserved tickets for the draft next year - the "day 2 diehards".

See you there. Hoping to be credentialled this year.

:lmao: With two young teenagers, I'm taking the 'under'.
