First time playing in a auction. Its a 10 team h2h.

Roster Positions:

C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, OF, OF, OF, OF, Util,

SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL

Batters Stat Categories: Runs ®, Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Total Bases (TB), Batting Average (AVG), On-base Percentage (OBP)

Pitchers Stat Categories: Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Strikeouts per Walk Ratio (K/BB), Quality Starts (QS)

Don't spend too much on pitching, because pitchers are much less consistent year to year than hitters. You can find good pitchers on the waiver wire if some of the guys you buy don't work out, but it's hard to find good hitters there. You should be looking to spend between 65 and 70 percent of your budget on hitting.

 
I dont really believe there is a one-size fits all strategy for an auction draft. It all depends on your league. In our league, people over-pay (based on what you see in average draft values) for power and K's and under-pay for saves and steals. Its all about finding value and you probably need a few years to figure out where the value is.
