Auction dynasty Leagues (1 Viewer)

Fire the Fat Man

Footballguy
My league is starting a new Auction dynasty league next year and I am having an issue trying to set up the cap increases for each year.

The cap will start out at $200 in the first year.

We were thinking of increasing the cap each year by 120% but by the time year 4 or 5 come along the cap number is huge.

Anyone have any ideas on how to handle cap increases year to year

Thanks

Player contracts will go from 1-5 years and the salaries will be set by the following order:

Year 2 = 120%

Year 3 = 140%

Year 4 = 160%

Year 5 = 180%

You could align the cap with the NFL's which is currently 123 million if I'm not mistaken.

Other than that, I'm not sure why you would want to raise it so much.

Well dont you need to raise it because of salary increases and rookie contracts? For example if you spend all $200 in the first year and have all your players under multi year contracts then in year 2 your at $240 already and even if you increase the cap by 120% in year 2 you will not have a dime to spend the next season, therefore you can't participate in the rookie draft

We've had the same cap since the inception of our auction dynasty. Going on 8 years now. But we also have contracts so there's always veteran turn over.

so if you have had the same cap number for 8 years do you not have slaray increases? or do you just not sign everyone to multi year deals? We have salaries and contracts

Our player contract value doesn't increase. You just have to decide in year 2 who's still worth their contract and who you want to cut so you can add new FA's or rookies. Say you got Steve Smith (Car) last year at 20% of your cap. Going into next season you'll have to decide if he's worth keeping at that price or do you cut him to make room.We also separate our rookie draft from the vet auction. Rookies are assigned a cap number based on their draft position. Relatively low cap percentage.
