Finally, after years of convincing, I've talked enough of my buddies into taking a stab at an Auction League. After a one year "trial," I plan on redrafting auction style for a keeper league. But, I don't want to make it a rag-tag bunch of BS throughout the season of trial and error. They'd eat me alive for that.
Just curious how each of your Auction Keeper Leagues worked in conjunction with the waiver wire and the salaries of the Free Agents. How do you label each free agent players' value throughout the season? What is that player's salary for the next season.
I think I remember others having the keepers on a 3 year contract. Next season, when we start keeping players, would that be the way to go?
I would love to find an article that runs down the basics of auction leagues. Sort of an "Auction League for Dummies" report. I thought there was one a year or two back on the main page, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone have something like that? Heck, just a list of your leagues rules would be great.
FYI: I'm planning on the basic $200 salary cap to keep things simple. 10-12 teams, 16 player rosters.
