Auction Keeper Strategy **Draft Tonight** (1 Viewer)

Hi Everyone,

Could use  a little help for my Auction Draft tonight. League is a 10 team PPR with the ability to keep two keepers $200 budget for 16 spots. I was able to keep Josh Gordon for $2 and Emmanuel Sanders For $11.

My Question for you guys are with the $187 to fill the rest of my squad would you go all out on Top RB (maybe two) or grab a stud WR and Stud RB. Looking to spend no more than $5 on QB and TE unless someone is a bargain. Any advice would help. Thanks!

My philosophy this year depends where you are drafting. Assuming a serpentine draft here is what I did this year.

If you draft early in round 1 go RB. First five picks for me are RB1 T. Gurley/L. Bell/E. Elliott/D. Johnson/A. Kamara in almost any order. Then you should be able to get a WR1 like  J. Jones/M. Thomas/K. Allen/D. Adams/A.J. Green/M. Evans in round 2.

If you draft late in round 1 go WR. You should be able to get a WR1 like A. Brown/D. Hopkins/O. Beckham. Then take the best available RB1 for a PPR league. I like M. Gordon/K. Hunt/D. Cook/C. McCaffrey/D. Freeman/J. Howard/L. McCoy/A. Collins/L. Miller for their high floors

In later round you should be able to get RB2 like J. Mixon/L. Miller/M. Lynch who should get a lot of carries. Or a WR2 like T.Y. Hilton/A. Cooper/L. Fitzgerald/B. Cooks/A. Robinson/D. Thomas/C. Hogan/M. Jones/C. Davis/M. Crabtree/J. Edelman who will have high volumne in receptions.

I wouldn't suggest going in with the "I need to go RB/WR or WR/WR in the first two rounds" thinking. Let round 1 dictate the next few rounds.

Thanks man great insight but this is an auction draft tonight

The RB position has too much turnover year to year so going all out on any of the top guys is always risky plus with Bell holding out and Zeke and Johnson's offensive lines woes that should make Gurley's price pretty high, you would probably be better off targeting the second and third tier rb's instead of the top 4 guys and picking up a high wr and te.

I think you just read the draft.  There's turnover all over the place.  I'd get a top RB, then focus on WRs for the next highest bids.  Round out with decent, undervalued RBs at a cheaper price.  That's typically my motive in PPR leagues - wait on RB2, but go for top talent at RB1 and whatever I can get at WR1-2.
