Auction question: $32 Derrick Henry keeper! (1 Viewer)

Hey guys! I have my draft Sunday and was curious your thoughts on how best to navigate my situation.

I currently have D. Henry for $32

.5 PPR

12 teams, 16 man teams (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, W/T, W/R/T, TE, K, DEF)

Do you think a "grab 2 more RB1s early and fill out my team later" approach is best? Or a grab 1 RB1 and a couple solid WR? Just curious how best you think I can utilize the fact I have a half-off RB1 to start my draft.

Great questions sorry I didn't include. This is the second year so hard to dictate what WR will go for. Also, last year was a lot of people's first auction so I think people were spending like crazy early on. We have a $200 budget, though, and Henry is the only RB1 off the board (our league is 2019 price+10%+$5). All RB1s from last year are too much and Kenyan Drake is on a team that quit the league so back in the pool (he was $4 so glad he didn't get that deal!)

Don't force positions especially in an auction because there is no rhyme or reason when players get nominated (usually).  Do your homework to create your player values and then look for bargains.  By that I don't mean just look for the cheapest guys.  I mean when a player you like is going for less than your "value" assigned then go for it.  It doesn't really matter what position because if you get value plays you can then shift your money if there is a position you need to pay a little more later on.

Value each roster position and then value the players.  Work to get bargains based on your valuation,  If you do that you will do fine.

PS - Only spend $1 on K and DEF unless you are at the end and have a lot of extra money.  However, if that is the case you probably did something wrong.

Great advice and put together way better than I could have ever put it.
