August 9th ADP (1 Viewer)

Little help?

This is supposed to be the ADP, right?

Yet the rankings apparently include:

Legend:

Expert = FBG Expert Consensus Rankings

MFL = My Fantasy League ADP

Mock = Mock Draft Central ADP

Calc = Fantasy Football Calculator ADP

Mags = 4 Popular Fantasy Magazines

CBS = CBS Top 125 List

Rankings are not ADP. I can't tell what's actually the ADP and what's not.

Am I missing something??

We have enough folks reading this to get some info.

Can folks at least confirm that they are confused too? Or is it just me?

Thanks.

I would sort it by the MFL category. That's the only true ADP in the sense that you're looking for.

History has shown me that our consensus player rankings does a pretty good job of tracking to ADP. Actually we do better at predicting player value that is on the move due to injuries, etc.

The mag and CBS inputs are just extra inputs, but are not reflected in the average calculations to arrive at a consensus ADP. I rate all of these inputs equally:

Expert = FBG Expert Consensus Rankings

MFL = My Fantasy League ADP

Mock = Mock Draft Central ADP

Calc = Fantasy Football Calculator ADP

The main reason I use FBG rankings as an input is because we are WAY faster at reporting a change due to injury, benching, etc than the ADP sites (that lag behind by weeks). The other reason I use this number is that I prefer the ADP to be close with regards to expert drafts. If you like someone, you need to know that some people are targeting him there, etc.

Anyway, that's our logic here. I think we have the best ADP by a mile, but again I am very biased. We will be releasing a new ADP Wednesday night.

David,Thanks for the reply but I don't understand. I thought the purpose of ADP was to capitalize on where poor drafters deviate from the rankings. When you mix the two aren't you compromising the ADP value? Are you suggesting that your use of the FBG Expert rankings is to get an artificially adjusted ADP that is in effect approximating what the ADP will be due to recent injuries and developments?

Yes that is exactly what I am saying. ADP from the other sources lag. Our expert rankings nudge it a little. But by evenly weighting our rankings with the other 3 ADP sources, I think it's the small nudge that makes it the best possible ADP.

I would agree with this as long as your not drafting against novices.
