Austin Davis, why so high on ESPN (1 Viewer)

The strange thing about ESPN's rankings and their projections are they aren't even close.

For instance:

QB this week - Austin Davis is 10th in projected points, but 26th in their rankings. Cutler is ranked 10th, but projected 14th.

RB this week - Khiry Robinson is ranked 21st, but his point projection is 9th. Forte is ranked 5th, but projected 20th.

WR this week - Garcon is ranked 26th, but projected 13th. Dez is ranked 6th, but projected 15th.

TE this week - Heath Miller ranked 11th, projected 4th. Greg Olsen is ranked 6th, projected 16th.

Those are pretty sizable gaps.

Btw I think Austin Davis is a great preemptive pickup. He has looked decent to me and think he'll do well this week vs. Philly. Get on board my fellow desperados!

The projections are fully computerized based on player's stats and defense FP allowed. That's how they're usually available early Tuesday morning. The rankings are based on the cumulative ranking of their experts (Harris, Berry, etc.). The fact that he tore up DAL and faces a D near the league worst against the pass obviously are a great recipe if you look past the name, but not enough for the guys on TV or twitter to stick their neck out. I am starting him in the one league I have to (dropped Alex Smith to start him). I would probably start him over Cam if I had been prescient enough to take action before someone else did.

I might go with him this week. Didn't think i wanted to drop someone but since J. Bell is out I'll use my stupid IR spot.

Cousins and Dalton are my other two options.

Can this guy put up numbers vs sf?
I'm not expecting huge numbers, but he extends plays with his feet (somewhat like Russel Wilson- I know not the same). But it seems like he is making plays in the face of pressure. I'm trying to snatch Palmer/Stanton though in hopes they come back for WAS.
