"Authentic" NFL jerseys (1 Viewer)

What % of fan-bought NFL jerseys are purchased knowing that they are counterfeit or at least likely

I've always wondered...

Full disclosure - I have purchased known counterfeit jerseys via the internet in the past (reference the huge "replithentic" thread on FBG), but my current jerseys are all the real thing.

Please explain why you don't like saving money? (those that insist on buying the "real thing" even if quality is the same)

That wasnt the question. I answered 21-40%. I assume about a third of jerseys are fake. I think the average Joe just goes into the stores and buys them for the most part. I assume folks that hang out on message boards buy fakes 75% of the time.

It's a lot larger % overseas than in the US. But I'd guess it's close to 40-60 total, counterfeit vs real.

Some brands actually allow it, or at least make it easy to do. But as the Nikes of the world take on larger % of the jersey business, that part is going away.

And it's getting tougher to import. So overall domestically it's probably 10-15% and shrinking.

I'm waiting for an email from the site I used to use. They got shutdown so they'll just set up a new site and inform me right after

Anybody got a good site for these nowadays? I bought a few jerseys online a year or two ago for like $30 a piece and they were excellent quality, but I can't remember the site.

Man this is an old thread. I must be getting old because I don't even remember creating it. I'm certainly not opposed to the knockoff jerseys, but there is nothing more cringy than seeing folks sporting an incredibly bad knockoff. Most are passable these days but there are plenty of awful ones out there too.

Yeah I've seen some bad ones too. For ~$30 I'm willing to take my chances, especially for my kids since they outgrow them every year or two anyway. I've been fortunate with the ones I ordered in the past, couldn't remember where I found them though. Just ordered a couple hockey jerseys for my boys from dhgate.com, we'll see how it goes.

you can't remember the site because it probably has been shut down and reopened lol

My jersey looks great until you put it next to a real one - then you can see the colors are off just a touch.....

DHGate was the go to for a while. Alibaba or Aliexpress probably have decent options. I'd just pay with a prepaid credit card.

ETA: might be worth sizing up with these straight from China jerseys. You really never know what you're going to get.

I got mine when I was in China (i.e., direct from the source) on business a number of years ago. They're real and they're spectacular.
BTW, I got a Fanatics brand (current licensee) and it is utter trash. Fortunately, I got it at a steep discount. Still feel like I was ripped off.

My mother ordered me an NFL t-shirt and a hoodie from Fanatics for my birthday and I was surprised how poor the quality was. I'm 90% sure the Bears logo on the hoodie was an iron on. It both feels and looks bad.
