AZ Homers: Have the Cards remained in the East (1 Viewer)

Not a homer, but they talked about it on Sirius a day or two ago. The plan was for them to stay on the east coast this week.

they have stayed in the Virginia 'burbs, just outside DC.
And practicing at Catholic University.
And Kurt Warner didn't like it. You don't want to make Warner mad. Because when he's mad, Brenda's mad!
Not every Cardinals player is thrilled the team is staying in Washington after Sunday's game to prepare to play at the Jets the following Sunday.Quarterback Kurt Warner and his wife, Brenda, have seven kids, and Dad isn't looking forward to getting away for 10 days."I don't like it," he said. "It's hard for a guy who has a family. Routine for me is maybe a little different routine for a lot of other guys."For younger, single players, going on the road isn't much different from being home. They hang out with teammates and go out to dinner. It's different for Warner. "I can't make up for not seeing my kids or kissing them good night or chasing after them when I get home," he said. But if staying East helps the Cardinals beat the Jets on Sept. 28, then the trip will be worth it, Warner said: "In the big picture, it's only 10 days. As long as we go out and take care of business, I'm all for what's beneficial for the team."

Warner was on Sirius this morning and he was very positive- not mad at all. Said the coach asked for his and other team members input, but had the final decision. that it was hard not to kiss his kids good night, etc. but in the scheme of the team winning, its was the best thing... The guy is pretty cocky also!! Said he's always been the same QB as he was when he was the MVP with the Rams, but the teams around him held him down! He's got confidence though and he does have weapons now. I am thinking of starting him over Brees this week!

I didnt think he was mad either. The local paper ran with a headline worse than what I had posted, so I tried to copy the same false sense of drama.Speaking of him being cocky. I watched him on the Fox pregame show this past weekend and what stood out to me was how much better he knows he is than Leinart. He was telling Pam Oliver how he understands it when a coach tells him that he doesn't give the team the best chance to win (cut to video of Eli). But he could not understand why he wouldn't be the starter when he clearly gives the team the best chance (cut to video of Leinart). Then in true Warner fashion, he went on to say how supportive he is of Leinart no matter what.

Hell of a teammate to be supportive of what's Leinart's done so far in his NFL career.

How common is it for teams with back to back games on the opposite coast from them to do this? And, much more importantly, what are the betting implications, if any?

New england is about to do it when they play SF and SD after the bye. THE NFL usually accomidates teams via scheduling to do this. Although San Diego is about to go Oakland to Miami to SD to Buffalo to London England to SD. So thats a mess
